First Person POV: Kohitsuji Hatake- Four years ago
——————————————————->
It's been two weeks since the incident. I've been able to avoid human contact since then.
Jeez, I sound like a Sasuke.- It was a good idea though, I feel much more like myself now. I don't think I should've bounced back that fast but I think it is fine. My mom and family died in front of me, no biggie. I mean what's the worst thing that could happen? It's not like I'm going to spiral back into a pit of depression after one minor inconvenience, right?Back to the point, I decided to change everything about myself. I had Dad cut my hair and buy me new clothes. (I'm not spiraling)x1
I even had me get me a new tanto. He said it was one of his enemy's from Kirigakure, apparently he slit his enemy's throat with their own blade. Nice.It was a fine, dark, slate, blade that had a samurai-worthy handle piecing.
Beautiful.
Needless to say I practically drooled over it as Father handed it to me. (I'm not spiraling) x2
The outfit he got me was a classic Hatake style fighting outfit. It consisted of a long-sleeved black, undershirt, a white short-sleeved tank over with a Hatake clan symbol embroidered on the back, a utility belt for my tanto and medical supply, long sweats, and ninja shoes. A navy blue scarf wrapped around the collar to finish it up.
I'll wear my headband on my forehead like Dad does when he kills his enemies with his Sharingan.
I stared at my reflection and sweatdropped. Maybe not, I look too much like Dad, I should wear it somewhere else.
Maybe.
Before I knew it, it was the day of the academy and I was nervous.
I hurriedly got up, brushed my teeth, made breakfast, put my clothes on, fed my father's ninken, did the laundry, counted and sorted my weapon gear, woke up dad, ate breakfast, in under an hour, and attempted to run out the door.
"Kohitsu, what's the rush?" Dad asked me as he still wore his night clothes, dragging me back into the house drowsily, "We still have a good hour or so until the academy starts. You can take it easy."
I looked down sheepishly, "I wanted to stop by the flower shop and graveyard before so I can tell Mom that I'm going to the academy. And besides, I wanted to say hello to Ms. Rin, Mr. Obito, Lord Minato, and Ms. Kushina." Heat rose to my cheeks as I mumbled the last part.
Father smiled at me brightly (possibly) under his mask and ruffled my white hair. With lightning speed he got in his ninja gear in under 2 seconds and he took my smaller gloved hand in his, intertwining our gloved fingers.
"Well if that's the case, let's get going." He gave me one of his famous closed-eye smiles.

"Rin," I bowed my head at the head stone in front of me, "I just wanted to give you my condolences and I hope you rest peacefully in Paradise."
After a good hour or so, hundreds of flowers had been put neatly in the vases and the once gloomy land was colorful with vibrant blossoms. It looked like a meadow in springtime. The once depressing atmosphere turned vivacious and lively as a cacophony of birds flew overhead. I believed that no fallen shinobi would want to rest in a stinky mud puddle, or at least I wouldn't. The fresh scents of the different flowers filled my nostrils, ridding my sensitive nose of the foul stench of death and alcohol.
In its stead, beautiful roses, lilies, violets, peonies, poppies, orchids, bleeding hearts, dragon flowers, spider-lilies, rues, hyacinths, daffodils, and periwinkles lined the headstones nimbly, each perfectly placed and symmetrical, coming in all different shades and colors.
