Keeley's POV~
Nobody might notice me, but I'm always there. I may not be popular, I may not be rich. I may be different, but isn't everyone? I'm average height, but is there actually an average? Even twins are different. People may look the same on the outside, but in the inside, everybody is different. Even the 'Fab 5'.
I may be smart, but not nerdy. I may be different, but is different really bad?
Things may have blown over, but nobody has really taken their chances on me, except Tori.
"Oof!" I groan as I run into somebody and I drop my books accidentally. Darn my clumsiness! I scold myself. I bend down to pick my books up, that's when the person I ran into's hand reaches over and grabs one of my books. I look up to come face to face with none other than Jake Waters.
"Hah! Clumsy girl strikes again!" Crystal smirks from behind Jake. I roll my eyes dramatically as Jake stands up.
"Thanks." I murmur and Jake nods his head a little towards me and continues on his way.
"Ugh! And Crystal was making fun of me being clumsy! It's not my fault!" I complain to Tori later that day at my house.
"Keels.. Give Jake a chance."
"You only say that because you think he's hot."
"Well he is!!"
"Ugh!" I throw my hands up in frustration and ignore whatever Tori is saying. I turn up the volume to the movie we were previously watching to tune out Tori's rambling about Jake.
Ding!
My phone lights up signaling I had gotten a text message.
Hey can you help me study for the math test next week?
Confused about who's texting, I pick up my phone and type in a few words.
Who is this?-Keeley
Just a few seconds later, my phone lights up again.
It's Jake. In your math class.-Jake
I stare at my phone in disgust until I finally throw it across the room, it landing safely on my mom's purse.
How on earth did he get my number? I ask myself. Tori must have noticed something was wrong because she (finally) stopped ranting on about Jake's cuteness and she turned to me.
"You okay?" Tori asked, paying attention to me for once.
"Yeah," I said, my voice cracking, "Yeah." I said once more, this time my voice being fine.
"Well you did just kind of have an emotional breakdown with your phone there a few minutes ago..." Tori said, her eyes wandering to the purse with my phone on it, "Was it Asher? Was Asher texting you? Because I swear to god if he was tex-"
"No! Asher wasn't texting me!" I said, trying to calm my best friend down. Asher was my ex-boyfriend. The only guy who had ever really paid attention to me. We were together for a year until he decided to come out of the closet. Trust me, it's not fun having people think you turned a guy gay. But most of all, after we broke up, Asher told EVERYONE at our school that she had pressured him into coming out of the closet. That she had been setting him up on blind dates with random men. All of which, were completely NOT true.
"Thank the lords," Tori sighed and slouched down in her seat, "No offense but I hate that guy."
"I hate him, too." I said and glanced at my phone that was now lighting up again. I slowly stood and walked to grab my phone.
