Make sure you read the chapter titled 00-Your Quirk

"Next week, all classes will be having a class competition similar to the sports festival to see who the big three are this year. Just because you win a match does not mean you'll be picked, this competition is to see how all of you have progressed and to help us decide who to choose. Feel free to train on your own time but don't push yourselves too hard. With that being said, class dismissed." Mr.Aizawa finishes, zipping himself in his sleeping bag then sips his apple sauce pouch. The whole class is excited and immediately starts to pair up to practice training with each other. Feeling eyes on you, you look up to see Mina smiling already assuming you both will pair up as usual. You smile back confirming that you two will train together. At lunch, you and Mina left the boys early because of Mina's excitement and eagerness to train.  "How's the tutoring going?" Mina asks bending down to stretch her legs. "Surprisingly good, we decided to study together on Wednesdays too, " you respond starting to stretch your arms. "See, I told you he wasn't that bad. On top of that, you two seem to be closer." You raise an eyebrow, "Closer how?" Mina shrugs, "I don't know, just more comfortable around each other now...it's nice." You glare, giving her a concerning look. "OH NO! I didn't mean it like that I-" "Mina, can we just get started!" She rubs the back of her head from embarrassment and nods.

After a couple of matches, the score between you and Mina was four to two, you being in the lead. Mina is laid out in the grass, out of breath while you lay your head on top of her stomach, drinking water. "How the hell do you do that?" she asks, finally catching her breath. "Do what?" "You barely use your quirk every time we train and you still manage to be on my neck." You shrug your shoulders taking another gulp of water. "Go full out instead of holding back!" You let out a long sigh before saying, "Mina, I can't. The government is trying to classify my quirk-no me as a lethal weapon, going all out would just help them." "I still find that stupid as fuck, like yeah your quirk is dangerous but to legally classify you as a weapon I-" Mina scoffs starting to become frustrated. "It's not like you're training to become a villain or some shit!" "Shit I might as well be, that's how they see me anyway." She slaps your forehead making you jump off of her."Ow! Why did-" "Don't talk like that!" she yells becoming stern with you. "It's true! Every person who has a blood manipulation quirk is a villain. Even after all these years still training to be a hero I had to conclude that that's what they will always see me as." "You're not like them though!" "You don't think I tried to tell them that?" You get up, starting to become frustrated about the topic. "We'll just have to prove them wrong." You start to say something but Mina continues, "You're one of the hardest working people I know. You managed to make it all this way with limitations of your quirk and still face constant discrimination not just from the government but citizens and other students as well." She walks over to you and pulls you into her arms squeezing you tight. "Despite all that I know you'll be a top hero one day, that's how you'll prove them wrong!" You hug Mina back, letting out a relieved smile. It's moments like these that make you grateful that Mina is your friend.

It's the day of the class competition and you're nervous and not looking forward to the after-effects you're going to feel because of your quirk but you're still determined to win. Mr. Aizawa randomly picked people to go against each other and the fights were pretty interesting. You like how everyone used their quirks to benefit themselves even when the fight seemed impossible or unrealistic but knowing your class they're always hard workers. You've won all your matches so far and you're the only girl in the class that has yet to be eliminated, causing you to feel pressured. You start to feel a little drained but you try not to focus on it too much so you don't become discouraged. "Okay, the last fight is Y/N and Bakugou," Aizawa says bluntly. Of fucking course Bakugou would be my last fight you sigh to yourself, walking to your end of the field. You brush off your thoughts about him and remind yourself over and over again he's just another opponent. The class starts to cheer both of you on, excited for the fight that's about to happen between you two since you and Bakugou are strong fighters. Bakugou smirks at you as he stretches his arms. You don't give him the satisfaction of reacting to his gesture, you remain focused.
