I didn't even get to say goodbye.

He didn't even get to see us one last time.

My world was crumbling before me.

That was my last uncle...

I can't take this anymore.

I rush out of the house.

"IZU!"

I fell outside in the middle of the street in the middle of the night breaking down in tears vigorously. Why does this happen? Why give us life just to take it back? For every moment I counted on God, I'm fucking him up.

Just...why.

I called Pat. I needed someone to comfort me other than my mom.

"Izu?"

"H-hey..."

"Woah. You sound destroyed, is everything alright?"

"Can I come over to your place for the night?"

"Of course."

"T-thank you..."

I ran back to Pat's place. As I walked it...I saw nobody.

No citizens.

No nothing.

Just complete emptiness.

Everything that I was accustomed to in life was no more.

COVID-19...the disease that ended the world.

--Pat's POV--

I got a call from Izu, asking if he can come to my place. Since he's my best friend, and he never went to my place before, I couldn't resist. But I had to deal with someone first.

"PAT! Who was that on the phone?"

"It was just Izu, sheesh."

"That moron? Why are you even hanging out with him anyway? He's nothing but a distraction to us."

"Kaitlin, you don't understand. He's the most amazing friend anyone can have. We may even be a bit more than friends."

"EXCUSE ME?!"

"We're deeply bonded, Kaitlin. How would you feel if I told you to never hang with your best friend again?"

"..."

That got her. Nice.

"Alright. Fine. That's how you wanna act, Pat?"

"Yup. What are you gonna do about it?"

"We're through."

"Oh."

Why am I not as mad as I thought I'd be?

"Pat, this is it. See ya."

"So just like that, Kaitlin? One simple argument was too much for you?"

"Your nothing, Pat. Have you ever looked at yourself for once? No friends, no social media, no nothing! Your for the streets!"

"So you were trying to use me for clout?!"

Izu walked in on us. But I was so heated in the moment that I didn't even care.
