"'We have been expecting you'?" Seriously? It's like you're holding out a sign that says, 'I'm a creepy stalker!' or ' I'm a monster waiting to devour innocent little avatars on my boss's orders!' I mean, I would have made a better monster and I didn't have any practice! (Do you need to go to college or pass an online course? Do they have a daily newspaper called 'Monstrous Times'?) As soon as they went inside the kitchen to collect menus (which, in case you're wondering were not in the kitchen. They were on a platform outside the kitchen. So, ha.) I said, "Those are monsters for sure." "What do you mean?" Nilan asked flabbergasted. "One, he said that they were expecting us. . Unless they're creepy stalkers who got to know about our last minute dinner plans, they're monsters! We got to know about this now itself and our talk in the throne room was confidential. The Pandavas even said the portals were impossible to track." "Huh? What?" Karnya asked. "Seriously?! Weren't you listening?" I asked. "Of course I didn't listen! That's why you help me with my assignments don't you?" "Whatever. Two, have you smelled that cologne? It's so strong! People who put so much cologne have to be covering up some stink. "Aw, come on! Maybe they just smell bad! I smell bad." Nilan protested. " You're a strange creature. Why would the owners want people who smell bad in this restaurant? Have you seen how swanky this place is? And, if they put too much cologne they'll drive people away! Three, the sign outside this restaurant says, 'Exquisite dinner plans'. It's dinnertime now. Don't you think it's odd that such a good place should remain empty? " I demanded. "Okay, so we've figured out that they're monsters. How do we know which monsters they are?" Isha asked. The sign we saw outside...... the details in my brain clicked. SU Unda.... Maybe the S and U should be taken separately and you get..... "Sunda and Upasunda. They are the demons we're about to fight. They were brothers who loved each other dearly and wanted immortality. They knew they would never get it, so they got a boon from Lord Brahma that they could only be killed by each other." "How did they die?" Isha whispered. "They died fighting over a woman. They both wanted to marry her and they dueled each other until they died." The kitchen door was mirrored and the demon brothers were almost identical....... I thought I had a plan in my mind... or at least the beginning of one. Suddenly the lights went off. Then, when they came back on, Karnya and Isha were missing. In their place was the small demon. I couldn't help but feel offended since the other two got the better demon. I know, I know I should've been scared for them and all but still. At that time, I just wished I had a way to communicate with them, to find out if they were all right. I felt two pathways to connect my thoughts to. One was lined with gold and jewels. I figured it was Karnya's since she was the goddess of wealth and fortune and stuff. The other one was plain, and I figured it was Isha's since, being Parvati, she lived a simple life on Mount Kailash with her husband and children. I tried to go through Karnya's pathway but an invisible barrier blocked my thoughts from hers. I figured that she was too scared and she had blocked her mind. I tried going through Isha's and it worked! My thoughts ran through Isha's and I sent one urgent message, "ARE YOU OKAY?" She seemed surprised, (As one does when you go into their mind) but she said, "YEAH. WE GOT THE BURLY DEMON." She and Karnya were currently playing tag with deadly knives and accessories."THAT'S SUNDA, THE OLDER ONE." I said. An idea sparked. "SHOW ME YOUR SURROUNDINGS." She did and I saw that they were on the other side of the kitchen door. Karnya was provoking him by saying, "You have bad hygiene!" He was telling his life story to the two of them while jabbing, but Karnya and Isha were too fast. Karnya had removed her necklace and wrapped it around her fist, so that every punch hurt. Every time Karnya's necklace connected with him, that part of his skin smoked. The demon said, "My brother and I were exiled together. Durgamasura took pity on us and made us guard the pearl." I was partly listening to that and partly looking at the periphery of Isha's vision. In a corner, there was a crumpled up poster, which said, "TRY S.UNDA'S FAMOUS WINE!" Huh. He was a winemaker. And he seemed proud of it. I told Isha what to say and quickly went back to my own thoughts (literally). No time had passed. I was counting on my beautiful, stupid plan. And pure luck. If my stick was my characteristic weapon, then I would be counting on its power. I first provoked Upasunda into a specific position, so that his back was facing the mirrored door. Then I threw my stick and concentrated hard. To my delight, a burst of white light- (Hey that rhymed!) -came out of the stick, holding him into place and not letting him come out. The more he thrashed and fought, it took more of my energy and concentration. I felt like I was about to pass out. I looked at Dhagra, pleadingly and he understood. He threw his own stick and concentrated. This time a burst of purple light came out of his stick. It mixed with my white light, to form wisps of purple. Luckily, it strengthened the force field and took less of my concentration. Out of nowhere, Sunda broke through the mirrored door and tackled his brother. The force was so strong, it killed both of them. I felt like breathing openly now, but my brain decided I needed to collapse.
