A lonely heart beats for the Prince of the underworld, asking for his attention. He never expected to be like this with Thanatos with a war raging on above, but no complaints leave his softly colored lips.

They hold each other close on the singular bed of the Prince under expensive and soft cotton filled covers. Zagreus finds it easy to relax right away, but Thanatos has an overwhelming train of emotions running in his head.

His lonely hearts beats faster now in the quiet room. The first time they cuddled like this was only two months ago when they got together, right after Persephone returned. Thanatos still remembers that day or night, when they truly showed each other how much they yearned to be together.

His grey skin flushes a bit as he tries to not think about it, pushing the short Prince closer to his chest. Zagreus lets his leg go in between his as he pulls himself even closer, trying to listen to the other's heart.

"Are you okay Than?" He asks concerned seeing as it is racing.
"Anything you want just tell me."

The quiet god runs his fingers between the Prince's hair, thinking of how to respond properly to his offer.

"I'm fine." He pauses hesitantly. "I just...enjoy your company more than anything."

The Prince smiles and goes back a bit to look at his lover's face.

"How unusual. Your grey skin looks more alive now." Zagreus chuckles, pushing himself up.

Right before Thanatos replies, he locks their lips together, kissing him without a second thought. The Prince's mesmerizing love poison grasps onto Thanatos, burning away any thoughts of denial, which either way, never existed in the first place.

"Zag." He barely manages to speak before his breath is cut short.

Prince Zagreus, unaware of his own actions allows himself to continue, barely managing to hold back.

I want this. It's been so long. It is like you said Than. You're here. Nothing's stopping me.

His thoughts run wild as he climbs over the god of death, holding him down with his lips. He feels his waist being gently held from both sides by two big arms, causing a soft sigh to leave his lips.

"Than, is this okay?"

Dizzily the other bellow him nods in responce, undeniably seeking more.

With every kiss, they forget of how cruel reality is. They don't care about the future anymore, untouchable by their past's agony. Thanatos had come here for this. The weird pain in his chest that he felt before is still lingering inside, slowly fading away the more they are together. A fear he can't explain with words, but only with actions.

I want you because I love you. I don't want to ever lose you.

These words play in repeat in their heads, but none of them ever make it out of their heads. The reason is unknown. Fear? Shyness? Or maybe they don't want anything to interrupt them.

Any noise that would float inside the room from the House of Hades is now blurred away by their passion. Their garments are tossed aside, leaving the two almost completely exposed on the bed as the covers are the only thing hiding away their bare bodies.

In that moment, a wave of dying souls hits Thanatos' senses. He grunts annoyed, knowing that he must return no matter what, otherwise he'll have to deal with bickering.

Zagreus sees as there is something wrong, pulling away from him.

"Do you have to go?"

His body is pushed to the side and Thanatos takes over on top, surprising the Prince with his sudden smooth move.

"What-" He stops talking right as the older god goes down on his neck, kissing it and whispering with a husky tone.

"I'm not leaving yet."

He bites onto the Prince, doing what he's wanted to do for a while now.

Zagreus is too nice for his own good. At least this can put a line between him and others while I'm not around.

In the world of gods, it isn't unusual for a loyal partner to end up with another. It is simply in the nature of most. However, Thanatos has enough trouble in his hands already, which means Zagreus is one of the very few people he'd give his attention to outside of work.

As he pulls away, a red love mark slowly starts to appear on the Prince's silky white skin.

"This will stay for a while. When it's gone, know that I'll be here to finish what we started." He kisses his forehead and gets off the bed to put on the abandoned clothes he left on the ground.

Grinning, Zagreus tries to get himself together.

"You're very unpredictable Than." He sits up, caressing the big mark on his neck. "Oh gods. How am I supposed to-"

"Don't hide it."

Yellow eyes pin down Zagreus, a serious tint causing them to glimmer.

"I know I should've asked for permission, but I felt like I had no choice."

Rolling his eyes, the Prince grabs the clothes tossed over to him.

"I forgive you. As long as you keep your word."

"I never break my word Zag."

With that, Thanatos vanishes to thin air once again, leaving behind a frustrated Prince, in all the good ways.

When he stands up fully clothed and sees his messy bed, he immediately turns away, running towards Nyx's mirror, away from his responsibilities.

He attempts to ignore the big mark, hoping that nobody will comment on it.

"Zagreus?" A friendly and lively voice calls out his name behind him, causing him to turn immediately with his hand covering the mark.

Persephone stands under the nonexistent door, smiling softly.

"I heard someone teleporting and decided to see if you're okay."

"I'm okay mother." He looks at the ground, trying to get back in touch with reality. "I was testing things out."

"On your bed?" She narrows her eyes at the messy bed, then laughs. "Anyways. I wanted to tell you something so whenever you are ready I'll be at the main hall with your father "

"Wait." Zagreus stops her from leaving right away, wanting to avoid any visual contact with his father. "I uh...I'm ready. Just tell me here."

"Sure alright." Her sweet voice calms the Prince and she takes a seat on the luxurious couch near the mirror.

While the queen of the underword explains her well thought plan to Zagreus, his hand remains on his neck, only to be taken away whenever he turned the other side where she wouldn't be able to see it.

"How soon is this family gathering going to take place?"

"Soon after you invite them all I hope. Now go. And trust in me alright? We have a lot to learn of trust, I think."

She dismisses the Prince, standing up to leave his messy room.

Trust...

His hand slides down and he sighs in relief, thinking all about the plan. He holds the invitations carefully before putting them away.

"Time to go then."
