"Hey beautiful"

"Stop it, Bran"

"I can't, my sweet Saffron"

"Stop calling me that"

"Okay Saffron", he said with a teasing smirk resting on his face

"Sto-"

"Shut up both of you", Julie called out from the passenger's seat. Mrs. Harper chuckled from the driver's seat. Adam hummed in agreement from the shotgun "My best friend can't stay away from yours, Jules. What say, eh?", Adam grinned. He sat to the other window, while I Bran sat between me and Adam. Did I forget to tell you? Adam and Bran are kind of best friends too. They transferred together from their previous school to ours.

"You shut up Julie and Adam you too.", I huffed and turned to Bran, "You too".

"You and I both know you like it, sweetheart", he whispered in my ear.

My cheeks heated up red and my traitorous mouth curled itself into a smile. Bran might have noticed that too 'cause I saw him smirking from the periphery of my eyes. I reverted my eyes back out the window. I saw the stores and streets pass by, which I probably won't be seeing again for a long time. I was so lost in the view outside that I didn't realize a hand snaking up my thigh. I followed the hand to realize it is..... "Bran", I gave him a stern stare. He retreated his hand, smiling apologetically as if a cat was caught attacking a parrot of its own owner. I laughed out and saw Mrs. Harper looking amusingly at me through the rearview mirror.

She is one of the coolest parents and elders I have ever seen. That old lady is entirely something else. I wouldn't dare to call her old though. Not on her face at least.

...............................

After reaching the airport, we looked out for Tyler, Sof, and Ben and found them already waiting for us; Ben with distaste on his face while Tyler and Sof stood beside him sucking each other's mouths off. Yeah, and they say they aren't a couple. Wow. I felt bad for Ben. We all snickered as we reached them, disrupting the love birds from their business, while Julie bid farewell to her mom.

"So, lezgo lads?", Sofie gave a shout.

"Whenever you and your hubby are ready", Bran replied and everyone laughed.

"Pitiful you can't even bring your wifey to accept you, man", Tyler said.

"Hey! That's rude! And I am NOT his wifey!", I said defensively.

"SEE!", Tyler laughed, followed by everyone and Bran, who tapped his heart with his fist to act hurt while laughing alongside.

"Hush people and get going", I whined.

The laugh soon died down. As Julie approached us, we headed towards the entrance of the airport.

We were done checking in and boarding the plane. We were then seated in our seats and waiting for the plane to take off. I had a middle seat between Bran, who exchanged his seat with Ben's window one on my right, while on my left was Julie. Behind us were Sofie, Tyler, and Adam, and Ben was seated in an aisle seat of our neighboring row. "I want a window seat", I whined.

"Would you like to sit here, sweetheart?", Bran gestured to his lap.

"NO!", I cringed

"Okay. I was just offering the seat", he upheld his arms.

"OHH that I want. Yes"

"What were you thinking I offered, sweetheart?", he said innocently, batting his emerald green eyes. His dirty blonde hairs falling on his forehead with beautiful small curls. "Not so innocent huh? But if you really want to sit in my lap, you are more than welcome"

"Shut it and get up"

"Whatever for you, my Saffron", he got up vacating the seat. I shifted and settled myself while he did the same.

Julie was looking at us with an amusing expression on her face. I glared at her, daring her to say anything at all. Just then a felt a tap on my head. I tilted my head up to see a pair of blue eyes and a platinum blonde head hovering over mine.

"What's wrong Adam?"

"I am feeling nauseating with these two on my side", he angled his head towards Sof and Tyler seated next to him, "I won't survive the whole 11 hours flight. Save me, Sarah."

"We are used to them now. Don't be a crybaby and take your seat. And look out the window if it's much then"

He pouted and withdrew his head. Just then a bell dinged and an announcement was made, "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 4B7 with service from California, USA to London, UK. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes' time. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Bluebird Airlines. Enjoy your flight."

We all did as instructed and fell back in our seats. I looked out the glass pane on my side, seeing the large span of California shrinking as we ascend higher and higher, soon coming in view with clouds.

I don't know why but I couldn't shake off this uncanny, unsettling feeling in the deep corner of my heart, in my guts, as if London was calling out to me as if it had something thrilling in store for me, as if it was going to be my new dawn.

London here I come.
