The handsome confectioner up there.
--------------
I opened my eyes and saw the clock hanging on the wall just in front of the bed. It read 7 pm.
"GrrRrrr", my stomach grumbled loudly. I turned to my side and saw Brandon sleeping like a cute, innocent babe.
Did I just say cute?! I thought, But he was cute. So never mind.
"Ugghhhh", a groan escaped my mouth as I lifted myself up on my feet. My body ached as a thousand elephants have run over it. I dragged myself to the bathroom and freshened up.
"Time to order some treats for my hungry stomach" I patted my belly with one hand as I lifted up the receiver of the telephone with another. When I dialed the room service, the line came dead. After a number of failed tries, I found myself grouchily sitting in a chair
"Let's get up, my sweet legs", I said, staring at my feet, "Drag Me to the reception. Let's confront them", I pouted. After sparing a last glance to Bran snoring carelessly, I left for the lobby of the hotel.
When I reached the reception I found no one at the front desk. I dinged the bell a couple of times before the receptionist arrived. It was the same girl who earlier flirted with Bran. Of course it's the same one. Stupid me. I told her the problem with the telephone. She asked for my room number and she assured me that she'll send someone to fix that. She was looking at me weirdly the whole time. As if I didn't belong here or something. Such a snob. Just then a sweet smell hit my nose. Simply sugary and sweet. I spotted a candy counter in the corner, just beside that wall fountain, with a wide range of confectionary on display. Funny, I didn't see it in the morning, when we arrived here. But who cares? Without a second thought, a sprinted towards it. There were so many kinds of candies and toffees and sweets and chocolates and lollipops and whatnot. You just name it! The jars and glass cabins glimmered as if one's most admired dream. It indeed looked like a Dreamland. I just melted seeing all those stunning beauties begging me to buy them and stuff them in my mouth like a bear. I was busy staring at the candies and chocolates when I heard a voice from my behind,
"Something you like, sugarplum?"
I turned around to see a really handsome boy, brown-skinned, with curly brown hair and a dashing smile. His olive jacket on his black t-shirt looked good. I really need to ask him for some grooming tips I thought. He looked gorgeous.
"You're ogling at me"
"huh?", I said, flustered and confused.
"I meant that it is MY candy counter you are ogling at", he smirked, "So? Anything you like?"
He definitely didn't look like a confectioner. He himself a candy? I could agree. But him selling chocolates? Doubtful. Anyways who am I to judge.
"Yeah, I wanted...uum..uh.....a lollipop" I slapped my forehead inwardly. I sounded such a cHiLd that moment. I can't describe the embarrassment.
He laughed before he said, "I know just the thing for a sweet thing like you". And went around, behind the counter and dug some drawers and boxes, then finally pulled out......
"A Cotton Candy!?!?" it was packed in a transparent plastic wrapper.
"Yeah, I just brought it. Don't you like it?", he asked looking at me with anticipation.
"I do. It looks beautiful and delicious"
It indeed was way more than beautiful. I have never seen such cotton candy before. It was Rainbow Coloured!! And it had glitter sprinkled on it with star-shaped sprinkles too.
