Christina POV

When I finally have the strength to haul my self out of bed I pull an erudite sweater over my head and I wear some long dauntless black jeans.

It feels strange not having the faction system, I mean not that I liked the idea of it but it feels now that I don't have a place in the world and I've completely faded away.

As I walk into the elevator I catch a glimpse of the city through the window.
There's smoke mining sites everywhere cracks in the pavement the rusty iron bars of the fence.

It never should have ended like this.

Our city wasn't beautiful but we weren't animals.

The elevator hit the ground floor and the doors automatically opened. I walked out and the sky lit up with the Lightning, there was a truck driving around the city saying to stay indoors until the all clear was signalled

I took the stairs back to my room, I didn't want to risk the elevator. After endless flights of stairs I finally reached my room and collapsed on my bed until I fell asleep.

Tobias POV

The amount of rain that fell started to give me a headache it was so heavy that I couldn't see up the street. After a bolt of lightning the electricity that we had ran out. We only had the electricity for two hours everyday.

"Tobias are you ok?" My mother screamed whilst barging into my room.
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Come with me we need to get somewhere where there's no windows come on quick follow me."

She lead me into the bathroom where there were the least amount of windows. She lifted a mattress over our heads and the
We just waited.

After endless hours of rain and thunder and lightning. The storm had passed and the signal was given

I pulled a grey hoodie over my head and slipped into some black jeans. I jumped out the window. I looked down and then grabbed the window I was up very high. What could I do now?
Then something strange happened. I heard her voice saying.
"Tobias, you can do this. Remember I love you. So much."
I whispered back even though I knew she wasn't there. It felt good to hear her voice again.
After that I knew that I just needed to stay calm and get through this. I kept on carefully using the iron rail as a grip, I finally get to the flat concrete roof of the nearest building, I sat there thinking about Evelyn. I knew that she was going to continue the system. She never listened to me. She never will.

I sat there for an hour thinking about tris, evelyn....marcus, and what i could do to make my life better even if that meant i may need to leave. I stood up on the edge of the concrete roof and tried to calm my nerves.
And then i heard her voice again. So i jumped. I climbed back into my room, and then i thought something, the faction system is a great way to see if i can trust her, even though i had been living with her for 3 years now i still didnt trust her.
"Tobias!"
"Coming just one minute."
I walked out into the dining room and i was surprised to see two men standing at our front door.
"Excuse me is this the eaton resident?"
"Uh..yes?" My mother said.
"Come with us now!" He shouted, other than that they didnt say much. We boarded the factionless train and they took us to some place i didnt recognise.
