"Hard working, serious, tall and stubborn. Not to mention he's handsome. And definitely better than you Shawn."
"How can you say those adjectives to describe Lassy in front of me?" The brunette asks his cousin.
The woman smiles. "Because I know it makes you mad. Plus Shawn what's it matter to you? It's not like he'd ever go for me. He's still hung up on his ex wife."
"Hey! Any guy would be lucky to have you. Unlike him you're cute, short and funny."
The girl whines and shoves the tall man's shoulder.
"Also, not that I'm saying I want you together, but he could use a relationship."
"What's going on here?" Chief Vick asks walking over.

"Hi ma'am. I'm (Y/n), Shawn's cousin." The (h/c) smiles and holds out her hand.
The chief shakes her hand smiling. "Nice to meet you. Shawn why is she here?"
"Lassy just saved her life and she wanted to thank him." Shawn lies and the woman elbows him in the gut.
"Stop lying. It's not nice, especially to the chief. She signs your checks."
"Exactly Spencer now as I recall I haven't given you any cases. So why are you here?"
"Oh that is my fault ma'am. I know you're probably busy with the baby and your work so you don't want these two problem children running around the station. By the way you're doing fantastic juggling everything."
"Does she do detective psychic stuff too? If so I'd like to hire her instead." The blonde inquires.

(Y/n) giggles and looks at Spencer.
His look of betrayal and disbelief make her happy.
"Chief how could you replace us? Gus and I are-"
"I would love to work for you ma'am. Unlike my cousin I follow the rules."
"That's not true. You break the rule more than Shawn." Gus comments.
"That's not true. Detective Lassiter and I would work well together. From the way Shawn and Gus describe him and from what I've seen myself I think we'd be great co-workers."
Shawns scoffs and (Y/n) elbows him.
"If you let me work a case with him I promise you won't regret it."
"Do you really do the psychic thing too?" Vick asks, confused.
"Yes-"
"No-"
The blonde looks between Shawn and (Y/n).
(Y/n) glares at her cousin and he looks back quickly.
Gus chuckles quietly. "She does. Shawn just feels threatened by her superior power."
"Whose side are you on?" Shawns growls quietly to his best friend.
"I'm on (Y/n)'s side Shawn." Gus responds. "You know that." He adds then looks at Karen. "Chief Vick I would highly recommend (Y/n). Her ways are far different than Shawn's and I'm sure you'd appreciate her way more."
"If she gets hired that means less work for us. Which means-"
"I know what it means Shawn."
"You're such a bad friend bro. Gus has a real job in pharmaceuticals."
"This is why she's my favorite." Gus and (Y/n) fist bump.

"Chief, O'Hara and I just got back. What's Spencer doing here? And this civilian shouldn't be here either. Especially if she's with him." A certain tall brunette greets walking over with his partner.
"I'm (Y/n)." The girl greets holding out her hand.
"My cousin." Shawn adds.
"Oh god." The detective grumbles.
"I'm the better version of him. My psychic powers are-" The woman starts.
"Oh no, there's another one?" Lassiter cuts her off.
(Y/n) frowns.
"I've decided to let her work a case with you detective Lassiter. Her and Gus claim you two would work well together."
"If you're anything like your cousin I refuse."
"Don't worry Lassy. She won't give you any grief." Gus assures.
Carlton looks at everyone then lands on (Y/n). "One case. And if I don't like anything you do I will not hesitate to report to the chief and have you permanently removed from this building."
The woman blushes slightly at his agreement to work together, but frowns at his threat.
"That's kinda harsh Lassy." Shawn comments.
"Spencer, I dread working with you. Why would I entertain the idea of two of you?" The brunette questions.
"Cause she's smart, cute and funny." The two friends respond in unison.
Right after they fist bump.
The tall detective looks between the duo then back at the girl. "No funny business."
"Perfect. Now that that's settled Lassiter, O'Hara, I have a new case for you." The chief responds and walks to her office.
"What about us?" Shawn calls.
"Go home Spencer." The blonde responds and walks into her office.

"You ok with the back seat?" Juliet asks.
"Yes I'm fine Ms. I'm used to it with nincompoop one and two."
"Juliet is fine (Y/n). I must say, you seem like the complete opposite of Shawn. He said you were cousins?"
"Yeah. His mother is my aunt. Lovely woman, and Henry is great. Shawn....we get along great but sometimes it's hard to have serious conversations. That's why Gus and I are tight."
"Sounds about right for that idiot." Lassiter comments glancing at his partner.
"They tell me about you two all the time though. All the fun adventures you've been on together through your work."
"They aren't adventures. They are serious, dangerous jobs. And your cousin doesn't seem to understand."
"I get you there sir. I wish I could make it up to you. I would fire him if I had the power."
"Lassiter is fine. By the way. Do you really do the psychic thing too? Gus implied your way of things was calmer than Shawn's."
"By far. Shawn is a drama queen and flails around when he finds a clue or has a vision."
"You don't?" Juliet asks.
"Of course not. My visions come to me without the production. Not to mention I can interpret them faster and clearer than Shawn."
"I might have miss judged you (Y/n). Don't get your hopes too high but this partnership might work out after all."
(Y/n) smiles triumphantly. "Would you like to see my impression of Shawn, Juliet? Gus tells me Shawn is such a playboy when he works cases."
The woman laughs. "Yes please."

Lassiter pulls up to the crime scene and gets out of the car. "Make it quick (Y/n). And don't be too outrageous."
"Lassiter how can I do an accurate impression of Shawn then."
The detective opens his mouth then closes it, nodding in silent agreement.
(Y/n) spots a sexy woman standing nearby. "Come here often?" She asks seductively, earning a blush from the woman. "Why don't we get a drink sometime?"
"Ok." The woman whispers, putting hair behind her ear.

(Y/n) looks around and gasps when something comes to her. She puts her finger to her temple. "I'm getting something."
Juliet giggles.
She points at the body. "This man! Was murdered by the creep next door." She stumbles around and quickly looks at the two partners. "Check his pockets. I'm seeing, I'm seeing...an angry note."
"This is already identical, it's kinda scary." Lassiter comments to Juliet.
"I know right? I love it."
The CSI pulls out a folded piece of paper from the victim's pocket.
"Wow. Using Spencer's way. Let's see your way. Do you really think "the creep next door" did it?" The tall man questions.
"Of course not Carlton. I know it was the woman... who lives 15 houses away from the victim did it."
The two look at the woman instantly.
"Excuse me?" Lassy exclaims.
"The handwriting is obviously a woman's. When I looked into this guy I saw he was married, but his ring is gone. This side chick probably moved into a place close but not too close. She probably found out about him being married and got super pissed."
"Enough to kill him?" Juliet asks, suspicious.
"When he told her he still loved his wife and ended things yeah."
"You got all that now just looking at the body?" Lassiter asks, crossing his arms.
"15 houses away?" Juliet adds.
"Go prove me wrong." (Y/n) offers.

Sure enough they found the mistress 15 houses away.
Carlton cuff the woman and shoves her in the squad car.
"I hate running." (Y/n) pants softly, next to Juliet.
"It's just part of the job. Suspects tend to run most of the time." Juliet shrugs and chuckles.
"Nice work (Y/n)." The head detective praises.
The said woman holds back an excited squeal. "My pleasure. I look forward to our next case. That is...if you enjoyed my company. Cheif Vick is waiting for your report on my powers and the case conclusion."
Juliet links her arm with (Y/n) and walks back to the car.
Lassiter smiles and follows. "I enjoyed it very much. Not to mention it was significantly better than Spencer's."
