alexis lunas pov
alex, schnedier, elena and i walked into the hospital, letting up with penelope. she pulled us all into hugs."hey pen, i got lydias stuff you asked for. fuzzy afghan she likes, picture of the pope, picture of a different pope, picture of your dad, picture of the family, picture of me and alexis with the family, picture of me by a waterfall." schnedier said.
"i'm just gonna keep talking cause i'm not good in crisis situations"
"me neither" i said, frowning.
"this isn't a crisis. everybody, the surgery went well. it prevented a stroke. now she's in a medically induced coma. we just have to wait for her to wake up" penelope said.
"she's gonna wake up right?" elena asked.
"yes of course. but you know this woman can't be rushed. my wedding started half an hour late because she needed to adjust her tiara. yes she wrote a tiara to my wedding. she said she wanted to match the little figure of herself on the cake" pen said.
i turned to look at schnedier who was already frowning. "there will be no crying. your abuelita hates everything about crying. makes your eyes puffy, ruins your makeup, give you mocos"
"she did once tell me tears are the pee-pee of the face" alex said.
"hopefully she doesn't take so long to get out of her coma" i said, making everyone turn to look at me. "my abuelita took months, but i think her coma was worse. i mean, at least i got to see the snow in oklahoma" alex threw his arms over my shoulder as i sorta smiled at the memories.
"it was good and all, but it was sad too. you know this one time my brother farted with his legs wide open as we passed my him" i laughed at the sudden memory.
everyone looked at me weirdly making me realize this wasn't the right time. "oh yeah, sorry, i got a bit distracted"
"good vibes only, that's what we're taking in there okay" pen nodded her to all of us.
"good vibes" we all said.
"yeah, i'm gonna go" schnedier turned around to the elevator, leaving me there.
"hi mami, look who's here" pen said as we walked into the room.
"alex, put this on her. elena, papi on the nightstand, popes on the dresser, and schnedier by the waterfall," pen paused as she looked at us. "in hazardous waste"

i walked in shortly after alex finished talking to abuelita, meaning it was my turn to get to see her.
"be careful, i just painted her nails" alex said.
i nodded my head and softly laugh, making my way to the chair that is next to abuelitas bed. i sighed and placed my hand on her arm, making sure to not touch her nails.
"aye abuelita, i'm so bad at things like these. you know, when my abuelita got into a coma, i didn't cry. i never knew how to show emotion, and i always believed my emotions were not valid. i hated, absolutely hated showing any type of emotion to people." i sniffed as tears slowly fell down my face.
"but i cant imagine loosing you, i know i'm not gonna loose you. but i cant even trust a freaking hospital. i'm just scared of loosing someone else who's so important in my life. you were the first women that made me feel so safe, made me feel accepted. my family did not have that, they never showed acceptance, and they barely showed affection" i had gotten up from my chair, and walked around a bit as i talked.
"you will never believe what happened in jane the virgin!" i said as i wiped my tears. "luisa is now...well i shouldn't spoil it. but i am! luisa is back with rose officially, and now rose got surgery to look like someone else so nobody will know it's her! shocking right?" i made explosive motions around my head.
"alex, you, and i can watch it once you wake up. cause he doesn't even know what happens. talking about alex, i think i have some type of feelings for him. but who knows right? i mean he is cute, but i don't know. he's very nice and kind. and he's one of the only people who can stand me and who actually listens to me when i talk. well you guys do too obviously, but like he listens a lot. sometimes he can just read my mind. i've never had that before. but i should stop talking about this, your not my therapist" i said as i started laughing.
"ill see you when you wake up, yeah? i don't want to rush you abuelita," i got close to her. "but hurry" i whispered, placing a kiss on her forehead when i finished.
leslie came into the room, along with everyone else. i let him have his moment with abuelita and made my way out of the room.
"here's some jello" alex said, handing me some jello.
"i don't really want some, thank you tho" i said, handing him the jello.
"you have to eat alexis, you haven't even ate" he looked at me with a serious face.
"fine"

we made our way into the the building for lydias and schneider's citizenship ceremony. lydia thankfully woke up awhile after i had talked to her in the hospital.
elena, alex, penelope, leslie and i stood in the very back, waiting for lydia to be called.
"lydia margarita del carmen inclan maribona legtevidal de riera" we began to cheer and clap as she got up to get her paperwork.
"dale, abuelita, dale" we sang.
"they are more people" the lady said, interrupting us.
we put our hands up in defense and stopped.

"alexis, i am very mad at you" abuelita said, stopping me before i entered the kitchen.
"what did i do this time?" i asked, frowning at her.
"come here" she dragged me into the room, casing her curtains up, with an american flag.
"okay, i heard everything you said when we were in the hospital. i cannot believe you spoiled the show for me!" she crossed her arms, avoiding to look at me.
"i know you heard, you know this isn't the first time that someone i know goes into a coma, but i just had to tell you! i couldn't keep it in for any longer" i defended myself.
"and that you have a crush on papito? are you gonna tell him?" she asked.
"yeah, maybe. who knows"
