Chapter: 9 the dagger and wolf

A/n: hello my fellow readers here is the next chapter to this story. Now I'm sorry for not updating this in a long while, but here is another chapter so I hope you guys enjoy!

Y/n's  pov

After the incident with Ezran diving into the freezing water to save the egg and me getting him and the egg out safely, although Ezran is fine but the egg isn't as in the passed few days before the incident it was glowing brightly. But now the glow is barely glowing, we sat around the fire in a cave to help Ezran keep warm, same with the egg while Rayla went out to find something for Ezran while me and Callum wait inside the cave.

Callum: Hey, Y/n how are you doing?

Y/n: I'm good. Never felt any better.

Callum: That's good, but I don't get on how your not feeling cold after getting Ezran out of the freezing cold water.

Y/n: Yeah, you got a point there.

We then turned to Ezran to see that he is awake and glances at us when he should be resting a bit more.

Callum: Ez, you should really try to sleep.

Ezran: I'm... I'm... *sneezes* I'm fide.

I try not to chuckle cause Ezran said "fide" and not "fine" Callum being the caring brother wants to make sure Ezran gets enough rest as possible.

Callum: Your not "fide," you need rest.

Y/n: He's not wrong.

Ezran: *sniffles and sits next to Callum by the fire* What are you drawing? * sees the drawing* Oh.

Callum: When you were under down there, under the ice, I was so scared. *looks down at the drawing of their mother* I thought I was going to lose you like we lost her. But with Y/n's help and somehow you both made it. And now I can't stop thinking... maybe she was watching over us.

Y/n: That's deep man. But it's possible that she was.

Callum: If she knew what we were trying to do, she'd be proud of us. And she would yell at you and Y/n to go sit closer to the fire and bundle up!

Y/n: *nervous like chuckle* For some reason I could definitely hear her say that, and it terrifies me.

Ezran: *sniffles* I know.

Me and Callum turn to see Rayla coming back inside the cave and looks down at the drawing of Ezran's and Callun's mother.

Rayla: She's beautiful. She's your mother?

Callum: Yeah.

Rayla: Um, I found some moonberries.

she then puts the bag down to reveal the small berries that Rayla found for us to eat for now, she then brings out something else in her pockets that she found.

Rayla: And I found these for you. * brings out a green berrie* Bogeyberries! Ancient Xadian cure for the common sniffles.

She hands them to Ezran as I remember reading about those and how to use them, but I almost laugh when Ezran was about to eat them.

Rayla: Mmm... nope. They don't go in your mouth.

Ezran: *looks at the berries* Uh...

Rayla: To cure a stuffy nose, you've got to stuff 'em up your nose.

Y/n: *laughs*Yeah that's pretty much how you use them.

Ezran: Oh. Seems doable.

Rayla: How's the egg doing?
