Ophelia's Point Of View:

"Okay so one ice tea, two coffees with two sugars and extra cream?"

The group of girls nod their head confirming their order. I smile at them, "I'll be back with your drinks ladies."

Floral cafe is as busy as always. With Valentine's day coming up many flowers are being sold and more people are coming in to buy drinks and sweet delicacies we offer here. I just started this job a little over three weeks ago. I decided I didn't want to waste my summer crying over that asshole or just laying in bed and sulking. So I decided to get a job and the pay is actually good. Neither has there been any problems so far.

"Stephen I'm going to need one ice tea, two coffees with two sugars and extra cream." I recite the order to Stephen. His the son of the owner of Floral cafe. He works here part time when he isn't busy with college. His a cute guy but I'm not looking to date. His ginger curly hair lays against his forehead perfectly. His piercing green eyes can make anyone melt and his smile can give you butterflies. Well except me...this broken heart isn't letting anyone in. My walls are built up to the height of skyscrapers.

The door bell chimes again indicating someone has either entered the cafe or left. I turn to look and my face drops. It's Jase with his group of friends and his new girlfriend, Megan. Just great. I take a deep breath in and grab my note pad and pen before walking towards where they decided to sit. "What can I get you guys today?" I ask, my voice and face void of any emotion. Jase is the first one to answer, "I didn't know you worked here Lia." I turn to face him and meet his hazel eyes,"My name is Ophelia not Lia and what I do isn't any of your concern. Now what would you guys like?" Max, Jase's best friend, laughs. "Oh man, she told you." Megan looks guilty but nevertheless I turn to her since these two won't tell me what they want. "What can I get you?" I ask. She meets my eyes and stutters pathetically. "Look there's other people here that's waiting for their orders and you guys are wasting my time."

"We'll have four peach-teas." Darrian answers. His another friend of Jase but he and I never ever spoke, well up until now. "Will that be all?" I ask as I jot it down on my notepad. Jase answers, "One chocolate brownie." I write it down and look up, "I'll be back with your orders." I walk over to the counter and recite the order to Stephen.

I serve the other customers before finally serving Jase and his group. He digs into his brownies and moans at the taste. "Anything else I can get you guys?" I ask. "Tell whoever made this brownie, it's delicious." Jase answers. "Thanks, everyone thinks the same too." His mouth hangs open, clearly not believing I made the brownie. "What happened to you?" He asks. "Me?" I play dumb. "Yes. You weren't always like this Lia." I let out a laugh, "Well this is me now and I don't care whether you like it or not because it doesn't affect me in any way at all. And the reason why I'm like this since you're so keen on knowing is because I gave a boy my heart and he took it, shredded it into pieces, threw it on the ground and stomped onto it over and over again until those pieces turned into tiny fragments. So Jase this is me, I'm not the sweet girl you knew."

I walk away from the group leaving everyone stunned. I blink back my tears and head straight to the restroom. It's frustrating to know that someone took so much of you and you just can't be who you were before because you know the pain of being taken advantage of. I fail at keeping my tears in and run straight into a stall. I slam the door and bang my fist against the wall, sliding down and grabbing my hair while the tears just run down my cheeks like a river. I hate him for making me feel so weak, for making me cry again when I promised myself I wouldn't and I hate him for having such an effect on me. I choke back a sob as I hear footsteps.

"I miss him. I just can't stay without him, I depended on him too much." A foreign female voice says. You could clearly hear the distress in her voice and how hurt she is. "I know what you're going through. Why would they cheat on us? Weren't we good enough?" Another voice says and my breath hitches. They were cheated on but aren't over their ex's.

"Do you think we should call them?"

Before I can comprehend what I'm doing, I'm up and dashing out of the stall screaming like a woman that escaped the mental institution. The girls look startled and I don't blame them. "Don't call them. They don't deserve your attention and love if they just threw you both like that aside. I've been cheated on too and I know the pain you're feeling right now but we are worth more than this and we deserve to be treated better than what they treated us." The girls look at me with teary eyes and I'm crushed by a hug from both of them. We all cry together like we've known each other forever.

Girls have to stick together. Well some of them just suck, but the real ones have to.
