The next week

Officially summer.I woke up at 7am to my alarm.I was happy I didn't have to worry about school and stuff so it was a good day.plus maybe I can meet new friends.I got up and dressed myself casually (pic above👆🏻.)I tied my hair in a loose ponytail and headed downstairs for breakfast.my mom called me down a while ago but I needed to get ready first.I came down and greeted my parents.I sat down at the kitchen table with them and ate my breakfast.It was Strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast and bacon.I nearly ate all of my food when I decided that I would get to know the neighborhood since I was new ofc.I yelled "ill be back soon ,mom!" He kissed my forehead and I left out the back door bc it led to the garage.So I picked up my light blue bike and headed to the town. (I was also EXTREMELY pretty btw)I saw a shop called "Vincent's drugstore."I had about five bucks that I earned from chores in my pocket.I set my bike aside the shop and opened the door .I walked in and saw some baseballs on the counter."98 cents"it said on the box.so I took a three balls and a couple baseball cards that cost 25 cents.I walked up to the cashier payed for the stuff and got my change.I walked out and picked up my bike while overhearing a conversation,"Yeah yeah we ain't got no money for anymore balls now thanks" one boy said."well now what are we gonna do?" Another exclaimed I walked over with my bike to where I heard the noises come from and saw a group of eight boys.They stopped their convo and stared at me "need a ball?" I exclaimed "y- y -yes but we ain't got no money." The red one with curly hair said.They looked bummed out so I threw them one of my balls.They asked me why I is them and so I told them "I was riding in town and saw a shop so I went in grabbed some stuff and walked out .I was going to look for a baseball field nearby to play at but I heard you guys and came to check it out." "But your a girl?"the one with the curly red hair said. "And?" I said abruptly."yeah yeah you can't play ball." Said a cute one with light brown hair and blue eyes."wanna bet I bet I can strike out your best player with only three pitches"I said while tossing a ball in the air softly and repeatedly."yeah right we will pick you up at 10 to take you to the sandlot where's your house and what's your name"said a tall tan skinned one with dark hair."(your address in the movie) and my name is nerissa hurrey yours?" One said they're names and they all spit after theirs was said.I was slightly grossed out but didn't really care.So I left and came to my house excited I kept the same clothes on ofc.I grabbed my équipement and set it on the table it was 9:50 am so I ate a granola bar and waited.I heard a couple knocks at my door so I open it .it was Benny .he picked me up and took me to the field on the way we saw a boy looking sad on his porch we asked him if he wanted to play and he said sure little did we know he didn't know how to.we arrived at this sort of rundown field as I stepped on the dirt I felt at homes.It was very welcoming. The boys were in their positions ready to watch me 'fail' or so they thought. I stepped up to the mount. And got ready Benny was batting and he never struck out once or let alone never got a strike.I started off with my fastball I threw it and Benny just stood there."come on just throw it"he says.Ham looked shocked behind the plate he showed Benny the ball and everyone was in awe . He threw the ball back and did a curve ball bc I knew he expected another fast ball. "STRIKE TWO" ham called. I caught the ball again and threw a change up.ham caught the ball and stood up everyone was confused  and started walking over "h- h- he's out."ham said quietly.everyone gathered in a huddle and decided I should be on the team after hours of playing we all walked home one by one they left.then it was me and yeah yeah (the cute boy)he walked me to my porch and I was about to walk in and he told me "you did amazing today!" I said thanks."ok I'll pick you up at 8am tomarrow ok?" Sure I said blushing he left and I ran upstairs amazed  that the boy I thought was cute offered to take me tomarrow.....
