Many things in Elara questioned was the stupidity of men. She was questioning this right now as two men conversed while she sat, wide awake and waiting for her friends to all wake up.
"Shocking business... shocking... miracle none of them died... never heard the like... by thunder, it was lucky you were there, Snape..."
"Thank you, Minister."
"Order of Merlin, Second Class, I'd say. First Class, if I can wangle it!" So, Elara had grasped the concept now, he gets a stupid medal for bringing a decoy in as the substitute of an actual murderer.
Elara, who was sitting, crossed arms and legs on the bed thought to herself about the whole thing: I think the fuck not. Mentally, she had decided to no longer be on speaking terms with Professor Snape, mainly due to the fact he literally hexed her voice away. To be fair, he did tell her to shut up, but he never said the magic word.
"Thank you very much indeed, Minister."
"Nasty cut you've got there... Black's work, I suppose?"
"As a matter of fact, it was Potter, Weasley, Lupin and Granger, Minister..."
"No!" The minister gasped out, almost as if it was a Sunday afternoon tea with the mother's. Elara rolled her eyes.
"Black had bewitched them, I saw it immediately," Elara was now gaping at the two men. What the fuck? "A Confundus Charm, to judge by their behavior. They seemed to think there was a possibility he was innocent"
"That's because he is innocent!" Elara butted in. But the two men continued ignoring her. "Why do I even bother?"
"You shouldn't bother with things you don't know you foolish girl!" Snape snapped at her, Elara swore she saw spit escaping his mouth.
"If I'm the fool you're the jester," she crossed her arm in front of her.
"Now, Severus, the girl's merely confounded," the minister excused, a fake smile on his face as he looked at the Lupin.
"I wasn't confounded!" Elara laid down on the bed, head against the pillow as she continued listening. Snape continued his lies, a story based on a cruel bias that developed out of envy and hatred. Why was the minister even bothering? Elara was so confused. It really wasn't far at all .
"Ah, well, Snape... Harry Potter, you know... we've all got a bit of a blind spot where he's concerned."
"And yet - is it good for him to be given so much special treatment? Personally, I try and treat him like any other student. And any other student would be suspended - at the very least - for leading his friends into such danger. Consider, Minister - against all school rules - after all the precautions put in place for his protection - out-of-bounds, at night, consorting with a werewolf and a murderer - and I have reason to believe he has been visiting Hogsmeade illegally too -"
