Chapter One: Hallam Island

The Smiles Family Household

You arrive at Hallam Island, ready to meet The Smiles, and laugh a little to yourself. "This sure will be a fun visit!" You say to yourself. "I can't wait to meet Robert and his kids!" You walk up the hill, feeling very ecstatic, and then your greeted by Robert Smiles, who is standing at the door. "Hello, LilBlooday_YT!" Robert Smiles says to you. "Hello, Robert!" You say. "Come inside, you can talk with Matthew, Seth and Clair." Robert exclaims, walking through the doorway with you. As you walk though, you feel as if something doesn't feel right, but you ignore it, not knowing what lies ahead, in the future. "Hello! My name is LilBlooday_YT" You say to the 3 children on the couch, assuming that they are Seth, Matthew, and Clair. "Hello!" Answers a girl in a blue striped shirt and black overalls. "Im Clair!" She says, excitedly. "Im Matthew.." Says another young boy. He looks at you, almost glaring, as if he doesn't trust you. "Im Seth!" Says a young boy in a red striped shirt. "Hello Clair, Matthew, and Seth!" You say in the most friendly tone you can make, trying to gain Matthew's trust. "Well, would you like a tour of the place?" Robert asks you. "Of course!" You say. "So, this is our living room." Robert exclaims. Robert walks into another room and says "This is the kitchen." "Looks nice!" You say. "Thank you." He says, and then walks into a small room, with a big table and eight chairs. "This is the dining room." Robert tells you. "The table looks really nice!" You say. He nods and walks upstairs into another room. "This is Matthew and Seth's room." Robert tells you. Red for Seth and yellow for Matthew, I should remember that..  "This is Clair's room." Robert says, as if he is a little bored. And blue for Clair... Got it. "Here is the bathroom" Robert says, gaining his bright tone back a little. On the counter there are three toothbrushes in a cup, a red one, a yellow one, and a blue one, and you assume that this is the kids bathroom. You and Robert walk up another set of stairs, leading into a small room. "Here's my office." Robert almost whispers, and you assume that he is tired, but you decide to ignore it. Suddenly the ground starts shaking and you start to feel horrified. "THE BOILER!!" Robert cries. "HURRY!" You and Robert rush down the stairs and outside, and then into the basement, where the kids are already waiting. Robert turns the boiler off, and heads back inside. "Could you guys go upstairs, me and the guest would like to talk." Robert says to his three kids. The kids head upstairs. Robert gives you a can of Coca-Cola and keeps one for himself, and you head outside with him. You sit down on the seat with him and sit in silence for a minute. "So.. What brought you to the neighborhood?" Robert asks you. "Well, mostly the scenery. It also seems peaceful here too." You say, trying to hide the fact that you were almost scared of the island after many people died. "Ah, I guess the scenery is amazing." Robert says, and then you and Robert sit in silence once again. After a moment, Robert says "Gosh, where do I begin.." What does he mean by that? "..Well, to begin, their mother and brother have passed." Robert says to you, trying to hide his sadness. You feel bad for him, taking care of 3 kids alone is tough. "It been very hard for them lately.." Robert says, failing to hide his sadness this time. "Its been very hard to accept for them.. even I can't accept it." "Well, loss isn't always an easy thing to get by.." You say to him. "I understand what your feeling, I have lost a few family members, and we all deal with it differently." "Mhm.." Robert stares at the sky, and realizes that its night time "Ah! We should head inside, LilBlooday_YT." You and Robert head inside, and you close the door behind you. "I'll set up the couch for you!" Robert says to you, as if what happened outside never really happened. "Oh, thanks!" You tell him. "It looks cozy!" Robert nods. You lay on the couch and Robert turns off the lights, and heads upstairs.
