|{Chapter 2}|

~|{A Little Talk}|~

Luck dragged Finral outside. Finral looked up at Luck. He had never seen him so serious before. He worried that something bad happened between him and Magna. Sure, they fight a lot. But it was just for fun.

"Magna wants to leave."

"What? How come?"

"He says he's not strong enough, which, clearly he isn't. He almost beat me once. Gadjah probably underestimated Magna. He wanted to be here more than anything! That's why I need you to talk him out of it." Finral wasn't good at this type of stuff. Worse case scenario he would just make their relationship even worse. But Luck hadn't asked him to do anything before. To be honest, no one has asked him to do anything before. He felt proud to be Luck's superior.

"Fine. But I'm only doing this because it might ruin your relationship with Magna."

"THANK YOU SO MUCH FINRAL!! He's in the garden with Charmy. Thanks again!" Luck hugged him, smiled, then ran into the castle. Finral was happy to see Luck smile again.

He entered his portal and walked up to Magna. Charmy was making a nice fruit salad.

"Swo good!! Da heart kingdowm's fwood is swo yummy! Want shome Magna?"

"No thanks Charmy I'm good."

Magna was staring at the muddy ground. He looked like he had just cried. His eyes red and swollen, and his cheeks red. Finral knew this was a serious situation. Magna crying and Luck not smiling? That's just wrong and out of character.

Finral was sweating. He didn't want to ruin Magna and Luck's relationship. Clearly he wasn't that good at cheering people up. But, he remembered about Luck. It was his job to fix their friendship. For the sake of their relationship!

Finral slowly walked up to Magna. He felt confident. But, every single step he took gave him more and more anxiety.

"U-uh hey M-Magna.." His hands started shaking.

"Oh Finral.. I was waiting for you. Did Luck send you?"

Finral gulped. If he told Magna why Luck sent him he might get angry and that could be the end of his relationship! No.. even worse, It could even make him leave the squad! Should he tell him? No. He'll keep it a secret.

"Uhm y-yes.. I heard you wanted to go back to the base?"

"Yeah.. But are you ok? You're sweating like crazy..

Oh crap! That could blow his cover! He had to make an excuse.. fast! Of course, it was another thing he wasn't good at.

"O-OH U-UM I-IT'S H-H-HOT! YEAH! It's hot!"

"But it just rained? Heck I'm wearing a jacket and I'm cold as hell! Are you ok? Do you have a fever or somethin'?

Great. Just great. That was the lamest excuse ever. "HOW COULD I BE SO STUPID?!" He thought to himself. He was way too nervous to even talk. Not only that, Magna thought he was sick. Now he needs to make another excuse. Not only that, he had to stop stuttering and shaking.

"U-uhhh maybe it's because I used too much mana?"

They both stood there silent. Yet the silence was so loud. He thought he got caught.

"Oh ok good you should probably rest then. You're going to take me to the base anyways."

PHEW! He was safe. What a relief! He almost got caught. That could've been the end of those two's relationship. If he had made one more lame excuse that is.

"Y-yeah about that.. you should stay."

"What why? Did Luck put you up to this?"

Crap! Another obstacle he had to face. Poor Finral. But this was for Luck. He wanted to be more helpful.

"N-No! Of course not.. I just feel like it's wrong.. I mean you went through a lot to get here. So why give up now?"

"Cause I'm weak.. just another commoner that's all."

Oh.. so that's what happened he's insecure about his strength.

"But that's not true.."

"That's what they all say.. but everyone's just a liar."

"Then why do you think Luck even hangs out with you?"

"That's what I ask myself.. Why."

As tears start to form in Magna's eyes. So that's why Luck called him. Honestly, he didn't know what to do either. The only thing he thought of was to take him back to the base..

"Alright then.."

"Let's go home."
