While searching the classrooms on the first floor we found a baseball bat. "You can have this. I doubt I'll be able to use this very well." I said, handing it over to Aki. "I don't see why you can't use it, miss gorilla strength... I'll hold onto it though." She agreed, taking the bat.
"We still need to check the basement level," Aki pointed out as we returned to the hall. "Ah, right. I was going to save it for last but I guess we don't have much else to do." I agreed. With that we started our descent.
"It turned into a cave..." I muttered, looking at the rough walls. "This wall looks like it caved in." Aki pointed out, poking at the gravelly surface. "Wanna use that mandrake bomb you picked up?" "Might as well." I shrugged, placing down the creature. "Hit it with the bat and we'll make a run for it." And so we did.
As we progressed through the cave we walked past a dead boy, who got reanimated as we passed, and a thin cliff path we could easily fall off of. We ended up at a dead end with a lone sign stuck into the ground.
The solitary mushroom guides
I sighed as we turned back around onto the thin path. As we made our way across, two zombies came from both sides, trying to corner us. "Oh, that's just great." Aki huffed, looking at me for guidance. I stopped inching across as we passed one of the mushrooms growing in the cave. "We have to jump" "What?!" "No time for questions." I said, jumping off the edge.
We landed on a small piece of rock connected back to the cave. "How did you know about that...?" Aki asked, rubbing the dirt off her skirt. "It was the only solitary mushroom. We would've died anyways so I took a guess." Aki huffed at me as I entered back into the cave. "Let me in on the plan more often." I stopped suddenly and reached down. There were muddy boots in a patch of dirt. "I was worth it. We have another key." I explained, smiling at my sister. We continued back to the main cave, which was just a jump below us. "So... Where to now?" Aki asked absent mindedly as we returned to the ground floor. "Might as well check the bathrooms."
I entered the girls bathroom and knocked on the last stall 3 times. "What, are we trying to summon Hanako now?" Aki asked. "We are in a haunted school. I'm just going to any leads. Anyways, there's no reply so let's go." I began to walk out of the room, only for the stall's door to open and a ghost to peek out.
Let's plaaaaayyyyy
We barely dodged the ghost as it dashed at us. We entered her stall only to see coins in the toilet. Aki quickly grabbed them as the girl came back to us. "You smell awful!" with that the ghost disappeared. "You... might want to wash your hand Aki..." "Yeah... I'll do that."
We moved on to the boys bathroom and heard someone shuddering. I huffed and knocked on the closed stall, earning a man's squeak. "I know it's you Tohma!" I said, opening the door. "Aki?! Mai?! D-don't startle me!" He said terrified "You always struck me as tough but I guess you're actually a coward..." I said in a disappointed tone. "S-say what?!" "So, Saotome's dead..." Aki said in a depressed tone. "Otome...I-it ain't my fault! I didn't do nothin' wrong! It's all Misao!" Tohma blamed "Damnit! Misao's gonna kill me! Help me!" Tohma cried "You help us then. We'll have to save Misao together!" Aki said "Huh? Don't be foolin'! It's Misao's fault all this happened! Why the hell you wanna save her?!" Tohma freaked out. "so you'd rather cower here forever? Because I don't care what happens to you. Laters!" I said turning to walk away. "Wait! Wait up! Okay! I'll do whatever, help with anything! Just don't leave me alone!" He pleaded. "Oh, all right... Don't fall behind." Aki said as she also turned to leave. "Y-yeah. Ok, let's go."
As the door to the bathroom shut, Tohma screamed from within. "Didn't I tell him to keep up?" Aki huffed as we pushed back into the bathroom. The room now had more blood splattered around it, and Tohma was on the ground with blood coming out of his mouth. "Tohma!" I cried in alarm. "Tohma! Stay with us!" Aki said as she lifted his unconscious body. He groaned a bit in pain. "He's still breathing. We have to get him treated!" I said helping him on Aki's back.
