Rhea

I woke up to a headache. Great, just my luck. This wasn't boding well for me since I had soccer practice after school. I really did not want to go to school, but I knew I was going to miss some stuff during class and I don't feel like falling behind. I was still stuck on yesterdays incident. I looked over at the empty picture frame and grew solemn. I opened my drawer and gently put the empty frame inside. I took a quick glance at my clock and realized I had 20 minutes to get ready. I went to go take a quick shower which was horrible considered I had to wash my hair in the span of 30 seconds. I got out soon enough and changed into my uniform. I figured I wouldn't have time to eat a full breakfast so I filled a small bag with cereal and ate that while driving.

I managed to dash out of my car and run as fast as I can to French class which was hard considering I was in heels. I was late, no surprise.

"Ms. Aldine, thank you for joining our class today," Ms. Walsh said in an annoyed tone.

"I'm extremely sorry, I woke up late and I-"

"It's alright Rhea, I'm guessing this is your first time being late to my class so I'll let it slide, now get to your seat."

"Thank you, and again I apologize." I finally sat at my desk and Ashley immediately turned around with a piece of paper in her hand. I opened it and it said,

Girl why were you late? I hate to wait outside like a loser and you didn't even bother texting me!

I wrote back my reply and explained that I had a rough day yesterday so I simply woke up late. I gave it back to her and continued listening to Ms. Walsh. After an hour of the lecture the bell rang and it was off to second period. Ashley and I walked side by side, however we were quiet the whole time. Once I made it to my second period, which was Pre Calc, I turned towards her and told her I had to go, but she stopped me.

"Hey are you okay?" She asked with a face of concern.

"I'll tell you during practice okay." I said calmly.

"Okay, just know I'm here okay." And with that, I turned and walked into my next class. The lesson flew by, which I didn't mind as much since I hated that class. I didn't have third period with Ashley which sucked because I had a free period, so I spent it in the library. I looked around to make sure the devil himself wasn't in there, and when I connived I was safe, I found a quiet corner and sat there with a book in hand. I grabbed the first thing I saw, which was Pride and Prejudice. I smiled a bit, as I remembered how much I loved reading this book. I watched the movie with my father and he would always say the enemies to lovers trope was bullshit. I would laugh at him, and ask how him and mom met, but he wouldn't say a word. Now looking back on it, I will never hear stories about my mother or how they met. I grew sad, and decided to put the book back. I didn't want to ruin my day. I got up and decided to go to the bathroom before lunch started.

I went into the stall and before I could do anything I heard a group of girls coming in. I was about to do my business before one of the girls spoke.

"Have you heard? Cesar has a new girl."

"Are we even surprised this man is hot."

I almost gagged in my mouth. He seriously doesn't know how to keep his dick inside his pants.

"Doesn't that Rhea chick always hang around him. I thought they were an item."

"No dumbass didn't you know. They despise each other. Apparently they're in rival mafias."

"No shit."

Welp, I guess I have no peace and quiet here. I slowly waited for those girls to finish their conversation and leave before getting out of the bathroom. I made a mad dash towards Ashley's class so we can head to lunch together however I stopped in my tracks to see Cesar in front of her class as well. I hid behind a wall and quickly dialed her number.

"Heyyyy, wassup where are you I'm waiting?"

"Come to the wall near your class I'm hiding here!" I whispered.

"Ummmm okay?" Soon I saw here emerge from the corner and i waved so that way she can see me. I quickly pulled her behind the wall and I whispered, "I'm hiding because I don't want the annoying buffoon to see me." She quickly understood and we made a mad dash towards the cafeteria.

We got our food and decided to eat outside because we needed fresh air.

"So are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Ashley said.

"Well to put it short, someone broke into my house and stole the only picture I had with me, my dad and my mom. Right now I'm confused because I keep extremely important documents there yet nothing was missing except that picture." I said calmly. Ashley looked at me hesitantly and with confusion. She stayed silent for a second and then spoke.

"What did Angelo do?"

"Increased security, however, he didn't react the way I thought he would."

"What do you mean?"

"I just mean, I thought he would go immediately into 'I'm going to kill someone' mode, but he was surprisingly calm and unaffected." As I said this Ashley took a sip of her milk and the bell rang.

"We'll continue this later," Ashley said as we rushed to clean up. We parted from each other and the day flew past. It was time for practice, and I went into the locker room to get dressed. I waited for Ashley to finish and we walked out to the field. However as soon as I walked out I spotted the boys soccer team on the field too. Oh no. I heard a whistle and noticed our coach standing on the other side of the field.

"Okay ladies, bad news, were gonna have to do a joint practice today. The tournament for the boys teams are coming up so the board said they need the extra practice." The girls on the team started to get excited, not me however because that only meant one thing, Cesar. I slowly turned around and there he was. Standing across the field, with a smirk. I turned back around only to see Ashley with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and internally groaned. As if this day can't get any worse.
