All four of you made it out of the building in a dark street, barely lighted up by some trembling lamps. You stood still for a good minute to catch your breaths, patting and sweeping off your sweat.

Your POV:

Soon whimpers and soft sobs could be heard and I titled my head to the left only to notice Chota on the ground looking like a lost-hurt puppy.

He was holding his leg, mumbling words that made me think he might be praying. My face softened as I approached him to see what had happened.

I kneeled down next to him and grabbed his arms that were holding and caressing his left ankle, trying to get them away to see the damage.

Chota whimpered and closed his eyes tightly, holding his tears back. I pitted him, and felt awful seeing him in so much pain although I've just met him and I should be minding my business.

Footsteps were heard approaching Chota and I and as I turned around I saw Arisu and Karube coming up to us. Arisu was holding a card on his right hand but before I could ask anything he dropped to the floor, face full of worry for his friend.

"What happened???" Asked Karube as he helped Chota sit up more comfortably. He threw me deadly stares, probably thinking I was the one who hurt his friend.

" I don't know, I was about to leave when I heard him sobbing" I said, defending myself.

Arisu tried to turn on the phone he was given earlier in the game, only to find out it wasn't up for use anymore.
'Interesting' you thought as you checked your phone too.

"DAMN IT" exclaimed Arisu, throwing his now useless phone away.
With all the light we could use, we came to the conclusion that Chota must have gotten into the last room late enough to get a big part of his leg burnt.

Thinking of all the ways possible to help the poor guy, I opened my banana bag and handed Arisu a bottle of water to give to his friends who was now almost uncautious. He could be dead soon...whether it was caused by too much pain or from shock of not being able to handle so much pressure.

I stayed with them for a couple more minutes, hoping I could be useful in some way. Karube had already went away to find any source of medicine or even someone with the needed knowledge to help.

Not even 10 minutes passed by when I heard footsteps approaching from the other side of the dark alley. I half-closed my eyes, trying to figure something out of the dark, when a short figure finally was visible and a middle-aged man came out.

I dodged Arisu softly, who hadn't yet noticed the man, trying not to make any noise or inappropriate -to the situation- move. He shook his head to me and as he was about to ask me what's wrong, his eyes met the man's.

We stood still and waited to see what he'd do, as we were both scared as hell.
"Fucking shit, everything's wrong in this fucked up pla-" Karube could be heard, profanities escaping his mouth as he was getting closer to us. He stopped immediately as he noticed the man's presence.

The man stood there for a while, looking at us blankly.
"It's pointless" he finally spoke.

"My visa expires tonight and I'm gonna die anyway" the man exclaimed opening his hands wide as if he had accepted his destiny.

"Don't you have any hope" he said, now pointing at us.

"As many games as you survive, they're endless. We are all gonna die anyway" he lifted his shoulders and started laughing hysterically.

He suddenly stopped laughing and got all serious, almost on the edge of crying. He looked at our direction with teary eyes. " I don't want this anymore" he whispered softly, making it hard for us to understand him.

Right then a lesser came down from the sky hitting him, burning him alive as the man dropped dead on the floor right in front of us.

We all stared in shock the liveless body laying in front of us. Not wanting to take any more of this, I stood up and got ready to leave.

Arisu and Karube still in shock, thanked me for staying and taking care of Chota.
Chota was almost uncautious, so he didn't say anything and probably didn't even notice my departure.

I started walking the opposite way of the dead body, hoping I would make my way to somewhere familiar so I can go back to the mall I had left my stuff.
