Even as a one-year-old, having Estelle caused many problems. Like arguing over whose turn it was to change her diapers, or who would be the one to feed her.
The one who broke the family fight and made the sacrifice of changing the diapers was almost always Sally, who had raised a demigod, one of the big three (aka Percy) no less, so for her Estelle was piece of cake. However, everyone agreed on the fact that Percy was horrible at changing diapers. Once, Sally tried to teach him and it ended up with Estelle's eyes covered by the bottom of a diaper. Paul was pretty average at it, but he preferred to be the distraction instead. His finger was by far the most interesting thing Estelle had discovered and giggled every time she wiggled it back and forth.
As for feeding her, it was a lost cause. The food would go anywhere but her mouth, and by the end of the day, everyone would be left covered in baby food and a crying Estelle. She was even worse than baby Percy at times.
On some days; however, Estelle was quiet and obeyed everything without causing a ruckus. Those were the quiet, peaceful days when Sally and Paul were able to catch some sleep, and Annabeth and Percy would finally be able to make their trips to Camp.
But sometimes, when Percy and Annabeth were away, Estelle would start bawling again, waking up Sally and Paul. Those days were incredibly hard, but they would always end up with a sleeping Estelle, and two very tired parents.
One thing that was for certain; however, was that out of all of them, Annabeth was Estelle's favorite. She would often play with her hair and wasn't as cranky with her. After the quest for Athena, Annabeth had found a new interest in weaving and braiding. She could be found braiding Estelle's salt-and-pepper hair in a gorgeous hairstyle, occasionally putting some tiny blue forget-me-not flowers. It calmed Annabeth down, especially after some particularly bad or tiring days.
Annabeth loved babysitting Estelle, and Sally had told her she would make a great mother, to which Annabeth would blush a hue of crimson.
Magnus's imagination had proved to be correct; Percy would casually hum "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid to make Estelle fall asleep.
One of the most memorable moments as a one-year-old was when Estelle thought the sun was a toy. Though her vocabulary was not very vast, she would occasionally giggle and reach out to the sun in hopes of catching it. Percy noticed this one day and reached out to Apollo while he was visiting Camp in his mortal form. Apollo agreed to visit her.
Ever since, Estelle would love the little visits she would get from "Uncle Apollo", as she had soon started to call him (to which Apollo's heart would melt into a puddle), probably because of him being the god of the sun.
Even Magnus and Will visited her once in a few months. She would giggle every time either of them glowed and hug them tight, not wanting to let go.
Nico, too, was a frequent visitor. Estelle loved him, and more than once would be found clinging to him, or snuggled inside his jacket.Everyone who came there to visit little Estelle would find their hearts softened by the little child, who despite her age, was already a wonderful little human being.
As Apollo had rightly stated, little Estelle was very much capable of ruling the world.
