We wave goodbye to everyone who’s still in the house, and I shove him into the passenger seat. I go around the car, whistling as I climb into the car. I put my seatbelt on and turn to him, seeing him sulk. I roll my eyes. “You’re such a baby.” I tell him, and he just rolls his eyes in annoyance.
“Two days after I come back and I’m already doing your chores. Anyone would be annoyed.” He replies. I put my hand on his arm, and then lean over to kiss his cheek. I can see him visibly relax.
“Hey.” I say softly. “If it really bothers you, I won’t make you do it for the whole two weeks. Just help me today, alright?” He sighs, and turns towards me.
“No, I made you a promise. I guess I’m being a tad overdramatic.” He grunts, and I grin as I start the car.
“Just a tad?” I jab. He looks at me, amusement in his eyes.
“Watch it, future Luna. I have ways you can pay me back for this labor.” He threatens, and I just giggle as I start to drive home. I turn on the radio to a country station, and start to sing along to some Carrie Underwood music. Day puts his hands to his ears. “Make it stop.” He moans. I just sing louder, and watch the road carefully even though there is like no one on it. All of a sudden, I stop singing when I feel a light feathery touch trail along my bare leg.
I stiffen, and I already know it’s Day. I turn and see him grinning at my reaction, and I glare at him for a few seconds. I turn back to the road, and I try to focus on the road and ignore his touch. My wolf is shivering with excitement, but as his finger trails higher and higher up my thigh, I can’t take it anymore. I smack his hand away from my leg. “Stop that. You’re distracting me.” I order. He starts to laugh.
“Stop what? This?” he starts it up again and a shiver runs up my spine. I just know he’s enjoying this. When he leans over and starts to kiss my neck, I pull to the side of the road, a couple hundred meters from my house. I turn towards him and glare.
“That was not funny. We could’ve gotten into a car accident.” I scold, and he just starts to chuckle again.
“But it was so much fun, and you know you liked it.” I open and close my mouth, unsure of what to say. Even if I wouldn’t admit it, my wolf sure enjoyed those moments. If it’s even possible, his smile gets bigger. “You did like it!” he exclaims. My cheeks turn slightly pink, and I turn towards the road and deny it.
“No I didn’t.” I start the car up, and quickly speed into my driveway.
“Yes you did.” He counters.
“No I didn’t.”
“YES, you did.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.” I kill the engine.
“Yes.”
“I DID NOT.” I say forcefully, and then I get out of the car, frustrated with my wolf and her dumb hormones. I walk away, and I hear Day get out of the car.
“Don’t walk away from me, Lailona.” He says calmly. I stop immediately, against my will. He had used a mix of his Alpha tone and something else, but it was in my blood to obey my Alpha, and my mate. I refuse to turn around though. “Turn around.” He orders again, and I reluctantly turn as my own body betrays me. It was kind of scary how much power he had over me, whether I was his mate or not. I see him leaning casually against my Mustang, and I shoot him a death glare. He tries to hide a grin as he walks over to me, and wraps his arms around my waist. It takes all of my strength to not just melt into his arms. My wolf says, Mate. Safety. Relax.
He sees my internal battle with my wolf, because his next words are, “You don’t have to fight my touch, Lilo. I can feel the pleasure you have through your mark when I touch you.” I gasp. He chuckles again. “You didn’t know? I’m attune to your feelings, and sometimes your thoughts as well now that I’ve marked you. I also am connected to your wolf, and I can tell she’s happy right here.” I duck my head, refusing to look at him. “Hey,” he says softly, using his finger to lift my head up so I’m forced to look at him. “I love you, Lilo. It makes me happy to give you such pleasure.” I try to fight the blush that rises up to my cheeks, to no avail. My wolf is beyond happy at his confession. I bury my head into his chest, hiding my face as he laughs and wraps his arms tighter around me. I sigh, knowing I am defeated.
“I love you too, Day.” I whisper, and he just kisses the top of my head. Then a thought pops into my head. “Wait a minute.” I push myself off of his chest, though his arms are still on my waist. I look up at him in earnest. “How come I can’t feel anything from you?” He shrugs.
“You didn’t mark me yet.” He replies easily, and I widen my eyes in surprise.
“That’s not fair! I want to know all those things too!” I whine. He just shakes his head.
“You’ll have to wait until you can mark me.” He just shrugs, and as he leans forward to kiss me, I swiftly turn around, pissed that he was privy to my feeling but I’m not to his. “Hey, I’m not done with you!” he warns.
“I have chores to do.” I say angrily, and stomp to the stables. Once I reach there, I brush Ash’s coat gently but diligently. I smell Day behind me, just watching me. I hear him sigh.
“You’re so stubborn sometimes.” I don’t answer, and then I feel his hands on my waist as he twists me around quickly and lightly slams me into the wall. He crashes his lips to mine, and my wolf is happy. I’m not though, so when he licks my bottom lip to ask for entrance, I press my lips tighter, refusing to give in. When he bites down onto my lip to forcefully get in, and slides his tongue into my mouth, when I bite it. He retracts his tongue and steps away from me, his tongue hanging out of his mouth. “Ouch.” Day says pointedly, giving me a look. I just smile sweetly, and then he just shrugs and walks away.
My jaw drops at how easily he gave up. That’s not the Day I’m used to. Before I can blink though, his mouth is back on mine and his tongue is in my mouth, while he pushes my body against his own. I don’t have the heart to bite his tongue again (because I’m not THAT mean), and instead try to fight for dominance with our tongues. I quickly lose, just because Day is so much stronger than (even tongue-wise). My wolf is ecstatic, and even I am pumped with the passion of the kiss. When he breaks away, I can barely breathe. He smiles smugly. “Out of breath, sweetheart?” he taunts. I glare at him while panting.
“I hate you.” I finally say, though I don’t really mean it.
“I love you too.” He replies, and my wolf and I are once again calmed with our mate’s love.
