Connor's POV
I watch her collapse as the blood shoots out of her neck. Her pale curls fall behind my arms as they catch her, breaking her fall. I scream for help.
Will's POV
I see Connor, Dr Latham and a few other's rushing to the hybrid OR. There are tears streaming down Connor's face. That's when I realise. They're carrying Ava. She is covered in blood. Connor looks like he's shaking.
Connor's POV
We were too late. She was dead before we got her on the table. Defeated, I rush from the hybrid OR to the doctor's lounge. It's empty, thank god. I just lost my dad a couple of days ago, now, in the space of a few minutes I get confirmation that my girlfriend killed him and I lose her too.
They were both awful to me, but I wish they would come back. My dad and I seemed to be civil for the first time in my life. As for Ava, she's just been manipulating me all along. But I didn't realise that until now. I had an image built up of this perfect girl. Stunning, dedicated, smart. But maybe she was too smart and too dedicated. And I never looked past her beauty for long enough to see it. Not only did I lose Ava, I also lost the illusion of who I thought she was.
This is when I realise that I'm crying, my breathing and heartbeat unsteady. I look up briefly and someone's there.
Will's POV
I nearly leave the room. He looks distraught. I doubt he wants anyone, least of all me, watching him cry. But I hear 'Will?'
'Yeah?' I reply.
'Did you hear?'
I sigh, 'Yeah. I'm sorry.'
He nods, clearly trying to hold back tears.
'She did it.'
'She did what?'
'My dad. It was her.'
'She- What?'
'She asked me to give her time to leave. She really thought I would let her after she killed my father.'
I sit down on the couch next to him.
'Why did she do it?'
'She was controlling and manipulative. That's why.' His voice was unsettlingly quiet.
