Connor's POV
The rain is attacking me as I walk out of the hospital. I can't tell if it's wholly inappropriate or completely appropriate for it to be raining as I leave the job i've worked at for years. As I, once again, abandon the city I grew up in. I look back at that sign on the front of the building and remember what I'm leaving behind. Who I'm leaving behind.
Will's POV
I'm running all over the hospital trying to find him but I can't. I need to apologise for the other day.
'Ms Goodwin! Hi. Have you seen Connor?'
'Dr Rhodes is leaving. Got a new job.'
'What? No. He can't-' I run out of the door, really hoping I can catch him before he leaves. I feel the rain hit me as soon as I'm outside. I feel like it's mocking me.
I sprint through the car park to Connor's spot. His car is still there.
Connor's POV
As I'm unlocking my car from a few metres away, I hear rapid footsteps coming up behind me. I turn.
'Connor! Wait!'
'Will? Will, what are you doing here?'
'You- you-' His hands fall on his knees as he tries to breathe, 'You can't leave, Connor.'
'Will, what are you talking about?'
'Don't go. Please don't go.'
I can't tell if it's tears or rain on his face. Or my own.
'What do you mean? I have to get to my new j-'
'Stay at med. Please, I can't lose you.'
'You- What?'
Will's POV
'You- What?' His eyes widen as he stares at me.
'I don't want you to leave. I don't want to be here without you.'
I know I look pathetic, crying and hardly able to catch my breath in a hospital car park, whilst it's raining. But I have to try.
'Connor, the other day- I'm sorry. I was being a dick.'
'I did wonder.'
'I thought you and Robin were gonna get back together or something.'
Then he laughs, 'You've never done this before, have you?'
'Done what?'
Connor's POV
I pull him toward me. He's soaked, but so am I. I grab the back of his neck and pull his face toward mind. My hand slips around his waist as our lips meet. My eyes slide shut and so do his. One of his hands cradles my jaw and the other brushes my lower back as I pull away.
'I'll stay if you do one thing for me.'
'Anything. Within reason.'
'Is promising to do that again reasonable?'
'Completely.'
