Chapter 2: What had to be done

"Ladies and Gentleman, coming from The Capital One Center, welcome to NXT!" Vic announced as everyone started chanting 'NXT! NXT!' all the excitement had shut down when they heard "shock the system"

"Please welcome, Adam Cole" Boos were heard from all the fans in attendance as he raised his hands high for his signature pose 'Adam Cole Bay-Bay!' moving towards the ring, an egotistical smirk appeared across his face "almost two weeks ago, this man turned his back on his best friend, his family his brother and last week we saw Kyle come out here demanding an explanation, but instead he got the likes of Finn Balor who we also saw Cole attack, and later that night we saw him take both Kyle and Finn with a vicious assault but now we have to wonder what Kyle's condition has to be, and if Adam plans to express his actions the past two weeks." He stood inside the ring as the sound of the fans booing echoed inside his ears "for the past 2 weeks, all I've been hearing everywhere I go is, why Cole? Why? Why did I superkick Finn Balor? Why did I turn my back on Kyle? Why did I stab my best friend in the back? Why-" all he could hear was the fans chanting "ass-hole! Ass-hole!" "Why haven't I explained my actions? Well truth be told, I don't owe anybody a damn thing. Therefore I allowed my actions to speak for me last week when I put Kyle down right here on those steel steps, and it has come to my attention that you're not here tonight, no you're at home resting your neck.. which in this case that's what's best for you"

"But let me ask you a question, Kyle. How did it feel when I betrayed you? How did it feel when you felt the impact crush your neck last week? Did it make you emotional and fragile? Because I certainly enjoyed every second of it, like I also enjoyed kicking Finn right in the face twice, but you know man that this wasn't necessarily personal but it had to be done." the booing continued to grow louder "It had to be done, because I wasn't going to put my trust in Finn Balor, I wasn't going to allow The Undisputed Era to be controlled by him, I wasn't going to let him change the group for what it was, but more importantly it was always about that NXT Championship, and as it seems that Kyle simply couldn't get the job done, he was more concerned on gaining Finn's respect and friendship, and how did he think how I felt? How did he think the rest of the Undisputed Era felt? He didn't seem too concerned about that when he had us constantly save his ass, no he didn't give a damn about any of us, but as far as I'm concerned that shouldn't matter anymore. Because The Undisputed Era is no more, I created the group, therefore, I'm the one who destroyed it, and Kyle one more thing, you say that I stabbed you in the back and that no matter what we're still brothers? You say you're giving me the benefit of the doubt?" he scoffed in amusement "well let me quite blunt with you, I betrayed you and I have no doubts about it and if I could do it over and over, I would. So as I see it, 'brother' that you're no longer part of my life, you're no longer my best friend nor are you my family.. and you know once you're done healing, and you want to step up to me, I'm ready whenever you're, with that being said. Finn Balor, I sure haven't forgotten about you, since last week, I made my intentions known, I'm coming for your NXT title, and I will take back what rightly belongs to me, and that is Undisputed" Before he could leave the ring, he was stopped in his tracks.

"Oh things are getting interesting now, Pete Dunn and the NXT Tag Team Champions Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan have arrived," Barrett said as they wandered down the ramp "are you seriously just going to stand there and demand a title match when you haven't done a damn thing to earn it. Unfortunately for you Adam Cole, you're going have to wait in the back of the line behind me, because as far as we're concerned, we aren't finished with Finn Balor" Adam just laughed as the three of them entered inside the ring "wait didn't you get your ass handed to you in your last match with him?" he bit his tongue roughly "I mean I'll admit that it was intriguing and all but don't you think it's time for you to step out of the way and let me have a hand at the prince, hell I'll even give you a shot at it once I'm champion again but like your match against him, I will beat you." Pete and Adam got into each other's faces as muttered insults came out of both the men until they were interrupted by the NXT Champion.
