(Better by Khalid was what I listened to while writing this chapter.)
The next morning came quickly for both Taehyung and Lalisa. One was nervous and the other was eager to see a certain someone again even if it was just to enjoy the sight of her. Taehyung arrived a little earlier than normal as he knew that starting the new hire paperwork process would take up a bit of time. Taehyung got to work and began pulling out the papers she would need to fill out and sign. He hoped she worked out. The hiring process was a pain and he really didn't want to go through the new hire paperwork more than he needed to.
Lisa arrived a few minutes early. Taehyung had already told security to let her in this morning and that she would have a badge made today. She'd had to show them a copy of her application before they had let her in the building on the day of her interview. She thanked security and went right up to Tae's office. He was waiting for her outside the door next to what she assumed would be her desk while she was working.
When she saw him she bowed politely and gave him a small smile. "Good morning Mr. Kim. What should we start with today?" she inquired. Tae held up the paperwork and explained that they would start with this as soon as she took a picture for her employee badge. He led the way to a room down the hall where someone was waiting with a camera to take her picture in front of a simple backdrop that had the colors and logo of the company.
After her picture was taken, Taehyung walked her back to the desk outside his office. "Now I need you to fill out your new hire papers. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know, my door will be open for now until my first meeting of the day. After your paperwork is set up, I will have you make a work email and an account on that computer so that you can access things in the company as needed." Taehyung began explaining. His eyes would travel over her every now and then, though he tried to remain focused on the business side of things. Lisa nodded and gently took the papers from his hands.
"I'll be done as soon as I can Mr. Kim," she smiled and took a seat at the desk. She pulled out her favorite pen from her purse. She called it her lucky pen. It was red and sparkly on the outside, and it was a black ink and felt tip. It wrote smoothly and she had tons of ink refills because she wanted to keep using the pen for as long as she could. Taehyung bit his lip as he watched her walk over to her chair and sit down. He turned and walked into his office and began getting ready for the day.It was a very busy day and he hoped that Lalisa would be able to keep up with everything. He had his blinds open on the windows in his office since the wall his door was on was glass. He could see Lalisa concentrating diligently and filling out her paperwork. His mind kept wandering to her and he found himself not getting very much work done. He needed to pull himself together. Even when he was with his boyfriend last night, thoughts of this new girl kept running through his mind. There was just something about her that he couldn't shake from his thoughts. They just....connected.
After about an hour, Lalisa came into the office and handed him the papers. He thanked her with a straight face and told her that she would need to take it down to the front desk so they could process it for him. Lisa nodded and quickly took the papers to the front desk and then came back up. Taehyung was waiting for her. He handed her a paper with instructions on how to create a user account and an email for the company. Lalisa accepted the paper and got right to work with Taehyung standing right behind her. He was so close she could feel the heat from his body.
Taehyung watched carefully and was ready to assist her if need be. He wanted an excuse to be closer to her. She smelled so good. Her scent intoxicatingly pulling him towards her sub consciously. He was leaning right over her at this point. He could easily close the distance between them and he thought about doing so when his phone went off and his boyfriend was texting him. He cleared his throat and excused himself back into his office and closed the door. Lalisa sighed slightly after his door shut. He had been so close and her heart had been racing like crazy. She just wanted to see what it would be like to feel him against her. That wasn't professional thought, so she tried to clear her thoughts and went back to setting up her accounts for work.
Taehyung sighed and looked at his phone. He smiled a bit seeing it was from his Kookie, but he felt slightly weird because of the thoughts that had been running through his head about Lalisa. He texted him back for a few minutes and tried to focus on his boyfriend for a while. Things were fine the way they were. He was content with his life. He was rich, had a very sweet and caring boyfriend, he had looks that rivaled models, and he was healthy. He couldn't ask for more really.
Lalisa finished up her accounts and then started messing around on the computer with the different programs and figured things out pretty quickly. She pulled up the company directory and added Taehyung to her contacts. She emailed him a short message saying that she was all set up in the system and ready to help him with whatever he needed. The email chime made him look up from his phone to his own computer. He opened it right away when he saw who it was from.
Smiling to himself he got ready to email her back and sent her some files and a tentative list of things that needed to be done. "Please finish this by lunch and have my schedule for next week ready by the end of the day. You have your own phone and my calls will go through you. You will learn when it's ok to send someone through and when not to. Thank you for being so quick and efficient. I look forward to working with you Miss Manoban. Sincerely Mr. Kim Taehyung." After sending the email he got back to work.
Lalisa's stomach was full of butterflies when she got the email from her boss. He seemed pleased with her so far and she hoped that this job would work out for her. It came with steady pay, paid time off, health insurance, and several other benefits such as discounts in the area if she showed her employee badge. An image of Eun Byeol flashed in her mind, almost as if she was giving her approval for the way Lalisa was handling things right now. Lalisa felt a tear drop down her cheek. Taehyung was coming out of his office for a meeting and noticed this. "Are you alright? You're not overwhelmed are you?" he was by her side in an instant. Lalisa shook her head and wiped her eyes. "No no. Sorry. It's nothing really. I'm sorry. I'm almost done with the files for the meeting," she spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper. Taehyung didn't believe that nothing was wrong. He wanted to comfort her but he really didn't have the time right now. "I don't like liars.....we will talk when I get back," he spoke gruffly before leaving.
