It was their prom night

They were dancing under the moonlight

with the gentle breeze touching their skin and the sweet melody playing.

His hands was soft but cold, maybe he's nervous, that's all. While her cheeks were flushing red as a freshly picked apple. He held her hand and squeezed it. He do not know how he did it nor where he got his confidence to do that. Luckily, she acted normal. As if it was nothing.

If only he knew...

They were looking at each others eyes, waiting for the first person to speak

The guy broke the ice.

"Uhm, ano, may sasabihin ako."

The girl nodded, acting cool.

"Ano, Sorry, Sorry kung umiwas ako. Siguro di mo pansin, pero sorry. Dahil umiwas ako sayo."

"Ok lang yun. Alam ko naman kung bakit e." The girl said.

"Ha? So ibig sabihin, pansin mo?"

"Paanong hindi ko mapapansin? Ako lang naman ang hindi mo kinakausap at ikaw lang naman ang tinitingnan ko..."

The guy was shocked. He didnt saw that coming. Not knowing what to say, he gulped and pulled his confidence once again. But before he could speak, the girl continued.

"Dati."

"Pero, sorry. Sorry talaga."

"Ok nga lang yun, past is past. :)"

She smiled as if it was nothing. She smiled! He expected she will make revenge, but he didnt get anything. Not even the slightest slap. With her kind-hearted soul, Oh God, how can he hurt this girl? How dif he hurt this girl before? Why?

"Sorry, sorry talaga, sorry parin.

Kumbaga, No strings attached. Hindi naman ako nasaktan kaya ok lang. No harm done." the girl smiled at him and continued.

"But thanks a lot. Thanks for the 9 months, 3 weeks and 21 hours of it. It was fun. Dont worry, I forgive you. And I will never forget the memories. Ofcourse, the happy ones."

And I know that I can never forget you, she thought.

Who who'd not?

The music stopped and changed, she let go of his hand and bid goodbye.

"Ive got to go. Bye. See you." she said.

Who can forget the person you love the most? The person who gave you so much to remember? The person who broke you into pieces?

Who? She can't.

She walked out the dancefloor, same as the room full of memories and heartbreaks.

No strings attached, she said, But I guess her heart did the other way around.

She loved, she connected, strings were attached, and she fell to the trap.

Tears kept on streaming down her face, she said it was ok. She said she was ok.

How great she is on pretending everything is ok. How great she is on hiding her feelings.

Poor girl.

If only he knew how broken she was while holding his hand.
