Chapter 2 - Family?

It's been a week since I arrived in the world this book has. I have many maids following me when I go out, when I take a bath they do it for me, most of the stuff that I can simply do by myself was done by the maids.

The maids were very distant around me at first, maybe it was because of Isolde, since she doesn't show any emotion she's distant, cold, and not sociable with the people around her.

Since I'm in her body, I can feel that she also long for affection and real friendship.
She thinks that she's doesn't deserve all of it and not realize that she's getting more distant with the people around her.

I've been always with Ava since I traveled in this world.

"Lady Isolde!"
I turned around
"What is it?

"You shouldn't go out by yourself without any maids or a knight with you-"
She said,
"-It's even more dangerous outside the castle"
She added with a slightly worried face.
"I apologize"
I said

"Oh my, My Lady you don't have to be so formal around maids like me. Many people would take advantage of you"
She said to me with a very serious look on her face.

The Next Day

Isolde's/Hazel's POV:

Now that I think of it there's no one in this castle that I am currently living in.

It's been a month and there's no one, not even a single soul visited me. I thought to myself that Isolde must've had a terrible relationship with her family...

I was reading a book to get distracted and also to enjoy myself, then I suddenly heard a muffled voices downstairs.

"Lady Isolde, Lady Isolde" Eva hurriedly called my name as she opened the door without even notifying me.
I gave her the look

"My deepest apologies My Lady" Ava said as she tries to calm herself down and stand back a few meters away from me.

I didn't think that having Isolde's face could affect this much. I practiced this every night before I go to bed, and I guess it did worked.

"What is it?" I asked her still looking stern
"Your Father, The Marquis has arrived" she said

"My what?" I asked
"Your Father my lady" she said looking so happy
"We should get you ready My Lady" she hurriedly took care of things that's needed and got me all dressed up.

"Ava when I gave you the look..."
"Yes My Lady?"
"...did I look scary?"
Ava looks really confused and why am I asking her such things
" Never mind, let's go already"

Today is the first time that I'm going to meet my Father or should I say Isolde's Father, The Marquis.

As soon as I entered the room I could feel the Marquis staring at me intensely that it feels like he's going to poke a hole by just looking at me.

"Greetings, Father" I added a little bow at the end. Everyone's eye widened as if I did something unforgivable.

"Why don't you sit down first" he said as he chuckled for a bit and turned serious again.

"Thank you Father" I responded
"Well, how are you doing these days" He asked
"I'm doing great Father..."
"...How are you doing with your new business Father? Make sure to take care of yourself" I said with a gentle smile

"The business has been very famous to other aristocratic families and has also been always popular to nobles..." he said
"... I came here today because I wanted to talk about your engagement"

"My what?" I said with a loud voice
He raised his eyebrows at me
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to" I said on the verge of crying.
