Eva and Jonas are both sitting on the steps in front of their school. Eva has her head on Jonas's shoulder as he types on his computer.

''And done..'' Jonas sighed while closing his computer.
''Good job,!' Eva sarcastically said with a grin .
''Seriously though I just did a thirty page essay that I could have spent the whole summer working on, but I did it in two days! I deserve an award!''
''What... the procrastination award?''
Jonas shrugged and placed his head closer to Eva. Eva had been looking forward to September 6th all summer because school was starting up again. She wasn't excited for school to start, she hated school but because with school starting up again that means that she gets to actually spend time with her boyfriend Jonas.
''Oh I completely forgot to ask but how was South Carolina?'' Eva inquired
''Same old, same old. It was fine and like seeing my grandparents was fun or whatever but like kinda boring.''
Jonas had been gone the whole summer, at his grandparents house in South Carolina so his parents could finalize the divorce in up in Seattle. At least that was all Jonas told Eva. She suspected the divorce was difficult for him but he didn't like talking about it and would always change the subject.
''I would have much preferred to spend the summer with you.'' Jonas said
Eva with a huge smile on her face even though she was trying to act some what cool opened her mouth to respond but stopped as soon as she saw them...

Eva's best friends... more like ex best friends(long story) were walking out of Ingrid's car and to the steps of the building . Eva took her head off of Jonas's shoulder and scooted slightly to put more space between her and Jonas all while nervously starring at Ingrid and Sara. Jonas frowned at Eva. Ingrid and Sara were now walking up the steps to the building where she and Jonas were sitting.
''Hi!'' Eva nervously said to the girls
Both of the girls rolled their eyes without even looking at Eva as they walked into the building.
''I'm sure they'll eventually come around..'' Jonas told Eva and..''
The first period warning bell starts to ring.
''We better go.'' Eva interrupted as she picked up her backpack and began to walk up the stairs. ''Sophomore year better go better than last year.'' she muttered under her breath.
