!TW! DEPRESSION!

''Wouldn't it be wonderful if everybody gave a little love...'

Tears.
Finally after so long, Belle let her tear slip out in the dark of the night in the large homely Gryffindor common room.
You see, Depression can come in many forms. For some happiness can come, when with friends and family, until you are left alone to your thoughts.
All those dark terrors dance around your brain, and jabbing at your heart. You see friends, Belle did have depression. It was her dark secret that only her friends of the closest bond knew about.
It all started when her Dad left, the Dercall family was devastated. Her Mother fell into a large rabbit hole of depression and self pity that she dragged Belle along with her.
She lost all her childhood friends, from tending to her Mother and her Father had a new wife and new kids.Life and love had suddenly vanished.
That was until Belle came to Hogwarts, the small flame inside her that had been put out by her Father, had been relit by a castle.
A tall Luminous castle that lurked in the Scottish Highlands.A castle, she called Home.
So as the girl done every night, she left her dorm and headed down to the common room, occasionally taking a stroll around the warm cobblestone walls, and let her tears fall free.
Her flame of Depression still kindling beneath her.Belle sat up, and walked out the portrait. Checking for that daft cat or the greasy... thing that owns it. Human? Maybe.
Belle didn't want to go far, as if someone were to find her she would like to make a swift and fast escape.
Walking along the corridors she examined every cobble, the window which looked out at the most beautiful country. Scotland.
She slid down next to the window, but far enough away that the sparkling shadows didn't caress her face.

Belle let out a small noise, which could be confused with a squeak but more aggressive.
"I- WHOS THERE?" Belle whisper shouted. ''I said! Who is there?'' Belle said, pulling out her wand from her boot. ''I am not afraid to- Lumos...'' Belle said, she didn't want to get to feisty incase it was a professor. In front of her stood a very stern looking Professor McGonagall.''Professor I-'' Belle exclaimed, wiping her eyes to hide the stinging tears falling from her dark eyes.
''Oh, Dear... Come come.'' McGonagall said, ushering the girl up and towards her office.
--
McGonagall looked over her glasses, past her desk and over to the broken girl in front of her. ''Tell me dear, what has you up past curfew?'' she said.
Regaining eye contact with the girl, she finally spoke.
''I- I couldn't sleep...'' Belle lied.
''Dear, I know about everything. Your Mother owled me at the start of the year.''
Sobs.
McGonagall sat up and walked over to the girl and put a comforting arm around her shoulder. Ever since the small Eleven year old got sorted into Gryffindor, Minerva had taken a odd liking and had a different bond to the girl. Like she had with James Potter and Sirius Black.
She was the Motherly figure the girl needed and she was the daughterly figure Minerva needed.
''M- Most people hate t-the rain. I love it, when I cry I watch it because when I cry I'm not alone. The sky- sky is crying with me.'' Belle blurted out. ''That's why I was out past curfew...''.
''Dear, next time this happens come here instead. Don't want you out lurking around in the corridors at night, especially in this state.'' Stroking the girls hair she straightened the girl and looked into her eyes.,
''Now, off you go to bed! Get some sleep.'' she stated, watching the girl flash her a small sad smile before walking out the door.
In that moment, Minerva McGonagall swore to protect Belle Dercall, like she was her own.

''All it takes is a beautiful fake smile, to hide an injured soul and they will never notice, how broken you really are...''
