Chapter 2 - Subsequent Questions

"Youhei oji-chan" the voice said "Youhei oji-chan, wake up."

"Hmm?" I ask "Ushio?"

"Yup." She replies "You'll be late."

I slowly open my eyes and sit upright.

"Thanks for waking me up, Ushio." I said gently, patting her head.

I stow the cushions in the closet and set the table.

"Sunohara-san," Nagisa-chan speaks up "You don't have to do that."

"It's the least I could do."

"Oh Sunohara" Okazaki says as he pops out of nowhere "It's nice to see that you're still with the living."

"Was Sakagami a murderer?"

"No, but... Never mind. If you can't remember, then maybe you're not ready."

"You've been saying the same weird stuff since yesterday."

"I could tell you the same thing."

"Breakfast is ready." Nagisa-chan calls out

"Well," Okazaki says "Nagisa'll want to hear 'bout this.

"Haha.." I let out a forced chuckle.

We take our place on each side of the table as Nagisa serves the food.

"Thanks for the food." We all said in unison.

We start digging in our food and Okazaki starts his thing again

"So.." Okazaki says as he swallows his food "Spill the story, Sunohara."

"Haah..." I breathe out "You're never gonna let it go, are you?"

"Nope." Okazaki says with a deadpan tone "Not until we figure out what's up."

"What story is this, Sunohara-san?"

"All I know is that he's in good terms with our interim principal."

"How is that possible?" Nagisa asks, shocked.

Okazaki slurps his coffee before starting to speak again "Just crack Sunohara open, I have to go."

"Be safe, Tomoya-kun."

He kisses Nagisa-chan and rubs Ushio's head and says "I got it." He leaves afterwards.

"Youhei-oji-chan" Ushio asks "Did our principal punch you?"

"No," I reply "Why'd you ask, Ushio?"

"You're shaking" Ushio points out.

"Sunohara-san, do you need medicine?" Nagisa-chan asks.

A first-aid kit suddenly materializes in her hands

"There's no need for that," I said "But thanks."

"Let's finish eating and we'll go." Nagisa-chan says.

"Alright." I said "Ushio, finish your milk."

"Yes, Youhei-oji-chan."

Ushio, guzzles down the milk immediately. I start to clean my spot and Okazaki's.

"Um, Sunohara-san?" Nagisa asks and attempts to get up.

"Don't stand, finish your food." I said "I'll wash the dishes. Just bring 'em when both of you are done."

I head to the kitchen to wash them with haste. As soon as I finish washing the first batch, Ushio hands me the plates and Nagisa with the cups and glasses.
