The Branwen Tribe is an organization full of assassins. If you want someone dead, you talk to Taka Branwen, and he'll assign one of his assassins to do the job. His top three assassins are Tyrian Callows, and his adopted son and daughter, Qrow and Raven Branwen. Today, coming all the way from Atlas, Councilmember Logan Williams meets with Taka to hire one of his assassins.
"Who is it that you want dead?" Taka asked them.
"Do you know of Councilwoman Joanna Ebi?" Logan replied.
"You mean the seven foot tall warrior who single handedly defeated an army of 150 men? Are you mad? I'm not gonna send any of my assassins on a suicide mission to kill her!" Taka said sternly.
"Actually she's, 7'2". But she's not the one I want dead. I want her son dead." Logan said folding their arms and resting their feet on Taka's desk.
"Get. Your. Feet. Off. My. Desk. Now." Taka growled.
With a scoff and an eyeroll, Logan takes their feet off of Taka's desk.
"Aren't ya gonna ask why I want my fellow council member's son dead?" Logan asked.
"The reason doesn't matter to me, nor do I care. All I care about is what you're willing to pay, which is....?" Taka said.
"How does 500,000 dollars sound?" Logan chuckled with a smirk.
"Hmm, sounds like we have a deal." Taka said holding out his hand.
Logan shakes Taka's hand then gave him the necessary information about Clover Ebi, the target. Taka takes out his phone and calls Qrow.
"What do you want?" Qrow asked bitterly...him and Taka don't get along well.
"What have I told you about talking to me in that tone?" Taka snarled gritting his teeth.
"S-sorry, sir." Qrow mumbled.
"Now, come to my office, I have a new assignment for you." Taka ordered his son.
"Yes, sir." Qrow replied before hanging up.
Groaning, Qrow puts his phone back in his pockst then leaves his room. While making his way to his father's office, he passes by his tribemate, Tyrian.
"Mmmm, ya know...you'd be a lot prettier if you smiled." Tyrian giggled with a devilish grin.
Tyrian's presence always made the hairs on the back of Qrow's neck stand on end. And his voice always made him flinch...especially after the incident last year.
"Tyrian...I've told you a million times...that if you ever came near me or talked to me again...I would kill you. This is your last warning." Qrow threatened.
"Hehehe, it's cute how you think you have the capability to kill me." Tyrian said walking towards Qrow.
"I-I'm serious, Callows, stay the f**k away from me." Qrow told him, his voice and clenched fists trembling.
Suddenly, Qrow is pinned against the wall, Tyrian having a tight, painful grip on his arms. His heart hammering in his chest, Qrow desperately tries to break free.
"What's with all this anger and fear towards me, huh?" Tyrian asked, his nails digging into Qrow's arms.
"You know why, you b*stard!" Qrow snapped at him.
"Ohh, is it because of that teeny tiny little incident last year? I thought you were having fun...I know I did. By the way...the best part was hearing you scream. Hehehehe...I would love to hear it again sometime." Tyrian said, his face much too close to Qrow's.
"GET OFF ME, YOU SICK FREAK!" Qrow shouted.
"I recall that phrase not really working last time." Tyrian replied, tightening his grip on Qrow's arms.
Qrow hated how much he feared Tyrian...and hated how the man enjoyed that fear.
"P-please...Taka wants me in his office to give me an assignment. You don't want to make him wait, do you?" Qrow said, his voice shaky and full of fear.
"Hmm...okay." Tyrian sighed letting go of Qrow's arms.
Before Qrow could get away, Tyrian grabs him again...this time by the throat...and slams him back against the wall.
"Tell Taka I said 'hi'...won't you, birdie?" Tyrian purred, stroking his thumb along Qrow's jaw.
Too anxious to speak, Qrow nods while swallowing nervously. The second Tyrian lets go of him, Qrow runs off towards Taka's office as fast as he could. Once he was outside the door to the tribe leader's office, he catches his breath and composes himself before going in and talking to the other person he feared most.
"What's the assignment, sir?" Qrow asked.
"Pack warm clothes, Qrow, cause you're heading to Atlas." Taka answered.
The assassin internally groans, he's never been to Atlas and was definitely not looking forward to it's extremely icy temperatures. He wasn't even sure if he had any clothes that would be good enough to fight off the coldness of the Solitas tundra.
"Okay. Who am I killing?" Qrow asked his father.
"His name is Clover Ebi. Here's all the info you need." Taka said handing Qrow a file full of papers.
"I've got an airship ready for you in the courtyard. So, you have ten minutes to pack and leave." he added.
"Yes, sir." Qrow said turning to leave.
"Oh...and...Tyrian says 'hi'." he murmured on his way out the door.
"Mhm." Taka replied, no longer paying attention to what Qrow was saying.
Quickly, Qrow goes to his room and packs every single long sleeved shirt he owned. Then he packs his knives, daggers, and mask. Next, he heads to the courtyard and boards the airship. During his flight to Atlas, Qrow looks through the file about his target.
"Hmm...son of a council member, 22 years old, has combat training...and easy on the eyes. Looks like I'm gonna have catch pretty boy here off guard in order to kill him, cause with arms like that he looks like he could kick my a**." Qrow said to himself.
For the rest of the flight, Qrow takes a nap, knowing that it would much easier to complete his mission when he's fully rested. Even though he hates this line of work...hates the fact that he takes lives for a living, he's more afraid of what Taka would do to him if he were to disobey orders. So, he'll just do what he always does; track down the target, wait for the right moment, kill the target while leaving no trace of his presence, and leave before the crime scene is being investigated by police. Killing is the only thing he's good at, so what choice does he have?
