Clover had just left his sister's room when he got a text from Qrow.
Qrow: Please come over, I need help!
Clover: I'll be there. Is everything okay?
There wasn't a reply, which makes Clover a little worried. He tells his family where he's going and leaves for the hotel. When he gets there, he knocks on the door, but Qrow doesn't answer.
"Qrow? Qrow, are you okay? Come on, Qrow, please open the door." Clover said while knocking on the door.
"D-door's unlocked." Qrow whimpered quietly.
This makes Clover even more worried, hearing Qrow sound so scared. He opens the door and gasps when he sees Qrow practically curled up on the floor.
"Qrow!? Qrow, what's going on, are you hurt?" Clover asked worriedly, kneeling beside Qrow.
Qrow shakes his head 'no', wrapping his arms around himself. Then he realizes that he was having a severe panic attack.
"Is it alright if I touch you?" Clover asked, his hands hovering over Qrow.
As tears stream down his face, Qrow nods, curling in on himself more. Gently, Clover picks Qrow up off the floor and carries him to the bed.
"What triggered the attack?" Clover asked, holding Qrow in his arms.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Qrow replied.
"Okay, that's okay. I'm here." Clover said, stroking Qrow's hair and kissing his head.
Having Clover near makes Qrow feel a lot better, and in just a few minutes he calms down. Though, with the panic attack gone, comes the adrenaline crash, leaving Qrow exhausted. After falling asleep, Clover tucks Qrow into bed and lays next to him, on top of the covers. With the back of his knuckles, Clover gently wipes the tears off of Qrow's cheeks. Next, he snuggles against him and buries his face into his hair.
"Rest, honey, I got you." Clover whispered softly.
Clover lays with Qrow for a bit then gets up and orders a pizza for dinner. When the pizza arrived, Clover nudges Qrow awake.
"Come on, baby bird, you need to eat." Clover said placing the pizza box on the bed.
"I...I-I'm not hungry..." Qrow mumbled, hugging his knees.
"Okay, I hear you and I understand, but can you at least try to eat one slice?" Clover said, handing Qrow a slice of pizza.
Qrow nods silently then takes the slice from Clover and starts eating it. He ends up eating four slices, making Clover happy and less worried.
"You feeling better?" Clover asked once all the pizza was gone and they were cuddled up on the bed.
"Yeah...kinda..." Qrow sighed.
"Wanna talk about it?" Clover asked, rubbing his hand up and down Qrow's arm.
"It's complicated. Very complicated." Qrow said.
"Then just tell me the short version." Clover replied.
"Umm...last year...a...coworker of mine...assaulted me." Qrow told Clover.
"W-what? You mean he...?" Clover asked horrified.
"Yep." Qrow answered, popping the 'P'.
"Oh my god." Clover said pulling Qrow into a tight hug.
"Did you report him? Was he fired? Was he arrested?" he asked.
"No, no, and no." Qrow replied, leaning his head on Clover's shoulder.
"So...you still work with him!?" Clover asked, shocked.
"Well, y-yeah...but I travel a lot for work, so I'm not around him all that much. I-it's fine...I'm fine-ish, it was my fault it happened anyway." Qrow stammered.
"But, Qrow...you're clearly not fine. Was the panic attack caused by him?" Clover replied, turning to face Qrow.
"Mhm...he texted me." Qrow nodded.
"You should block his a**." Clover said with a frown.
"C-can we stop talking about this? I-it's making me anxious again." Qrow requested, his voice shaking.
"Okay, honey." Clover said, caressing Qrow's cheek and kissing him.
Clover decides to stay with Qrow for the night, to make sure he was okay. Laying with his head on a sleeping Clover's chest, Qrow tried and tried to fall asleep, but he couldn't. He couldn't stop thinking about how caring and understanding Clover was.
"I don't deserve this amazing man's affection." Qrow muttered.
"How am I supposed to kill someone who cares this much about me?" he asked himself.
Eventually the gentle rise and fall of Clover's chest soothes Qrow asleep. The next morning, Qrow and Clover had breakfast together.
"I have to go home to help my dad with some chores. Will you be okay?" Clover said holding Qrow's hands.
"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks for last night." Qrow replied, squeezing Clover's hands.
"Of course, Qrow, I like you a lot. And I want you to know that I am always one call or text away. If you need me, I'll be there." Clover told him.
"You're a great guy." Qrow chuckled, unable to resist a smile.
"So are you." Clover said kissing Qrow.
As Clover is walking away, Qrow's smile fades.
"No...I'm not. I'm the furthest thing from great." Qrow sighed, covering his face with his hands.
On his way back to the hotel, Qrow overhears a conversation between two people about a campsite up in the mountains. That gave him an idea, an idea that he's gonna hate, but an idea nonetheless. To complete his mission, he'll have to convince Clover to go on a romantic camping trip so that he could get him alone to off him. Qrow did not want to kill Clover, he for real started to fall for him and he cares about him so much. But...he had a two week deadline to meet, or else the man he feared more than anything will come after him and kill him...and probably do other things to him. Images of the past flash through his mind...and images of what might happen also invaded his brain. He takes a few deep breaths to calm himself before another panic attack could overtake him. Qrow also made the decision to kill Clover in his sleep so that he won't feel pain or know that it was Qrow who killed him, so that he would die happy and in love. The assassin knows that once all this was over...he'll be haunted for the rest of his life...and that he'll probably never find someone who will treat him as well as Clover does ever again.
