A man in a blue jacket and sweatpants was stood in front of the vending machine, he had a similar build to Steve. That would be odd if it wasn't for the fact that it is Steve. He looked confused in the reflection, he was probably trying to find the USB gone.
y/n appeared behind him in the reflection, a knowing smirk on her face. Natasha was just behind the two whilst chewing gum. Steve turned around slowly before he grabs both of the girls by their arm before pushing them both back into the room.
"Where is it?" Steve questioned with urgency.
"Safe" y/n responded sternly.
"Who gave it to you?" Nat asked, even if she already knew she wanted to hear it.
"Why would I tell you?" Steve responded angrily.
"Fury gave it to you. Why?" Nat asked with slight hesitance. Steves eyes dark from Nat to y/n.
"What's on it?"
"I don't know," y/n grumbles through her teeth.
"Stop lying," Steve says more angrily than before
"I only act like I know everything, Rogers," Nat says, gaining Steve's attention.
"I bet you knew Fury hired the pirates, didn't you?" Steve says, acting paranoid.
Nat and y/n have a moment of thought before Nat responds. "Well, it makes sense. The ship was dirty, Fury needed a way in, so do you."
"I'm not going to ask you again"
Natasha was nervous and understandably so, Steve was angry as all hell and had both her and y/n cornered. "I know who killed Fury," She says out of the blue.
"You do?" y/n questioned with curiousness.
Steves's hands drop off their arms as he backs up a bit, both his and y/n's gaze is on her.
"Most of the intelligence community doesn't believe he exists. The ones that do call him the Winter Soldier. He's credited with over two dozen assassinations in the last 50 years." Natasha explains.
y/n's eyes go wide, so he was there that night and was the one to kill Fury. So he's here and if he is then that means that HYDRA isn't far behind.
"So he's a ghost story." Steve states.
"Five years ago, I was escorting a nuclear engineer out of Iran. Somebody shot out my tires near Odessa. We lost control, went straight over a cliff. I pulled us out but the Winter Soldier was there. I was covering the engineer so he shot him straight through me" She was as she pulled up her top to show a bullet scar on her stomach. "Soviet slug. No rifling. Bye-bye bikinis."
y/n stood in silence, she figured she would mention Cyber, The Winter Soldiers "sidekick" or partner. She did go on most missions with him yet stayed high up and in the shadows for sniping reasons of course. She had started out as a rumor which then turned into actual evidence before she dropped HYDRA and she guessed was forgotten over the 4 years. her nickname Cyber probably came from her Cybernetic parts, it's what HYDRA also called her when she was being mind-controlled. Not a happy memory.
"Going after him is a dead end. I know I've tried. Like you said it's a ghost story" As Nat said this, she pulled the USB out of her pocket. Shockingly, she had pickpocketed y/n when she wasn't paying attention and got the USB out of her pocket.
Steve takes the USB out of her hand carefully, "Well let's find out what the ghost wants."
