❪  Loren's POV  ❫ 

I have never been so anxious in my life. This job has always been my dream job, me and connor would always and I mean always talk about it. Since me and connor have been in 4th grade we have wanted go there just because the building looked interesting. Also both of our moms work there, which is another reason we wanna work there, but what's sketchy is they would be gone for two-three days and I don't know what job would keep them there for that long, but whatever. It would sometimes be scary because what if something happened to our moms, you never know. Something else that caught my attention about W.I.G Corporation (I still don't know what W.I.G stands for), is she would sometimes come home and my mom would have a cut on the inside of her wrist and it looked pretty deep, she would think no one can see it, because no one talked or asked about it, if i'm being honest I think i'm the only one who sees it. I don't know how or why she would get those cuts, but it scared me just a little, and Mrs. Ryke would sometimes come home with a cut on her ankle and connor says he sees it and I believe him. "Honey, are you ready?" mom asks me, distracting me from my thoughts. "Yeah give me a second!" I respond. "Okay, you have about  3 minutes until we have to leave." she says. "Oh my god, I know that mom, but thanks for the reminder."  ╴ "Okay 3 minutes to find a hoodie" I mumble to myself. "Hurry the fuck up loren" I mumble to myself once again. "oh my god. this one is perfect." I pull out a light grey hoodie, and it goes perfect with my black leggings, white crop top, and black high top converse. "Okay mom, I'm ready!" I say excitedly, I don't know why i'm so excited, I should be nervous. "Alright, I got the car warmed up, come on we got to get going!" mom says. Here we go...

2 hours after the interview.

"But mom, it just popped out, they asked if anyone drank in the family."  I say whiny. "No but's" she says angrily. "Fine, but I got the job anyway, but since your acting like a bitch, I'm going to connor's." I say. "Go ahead, it's not like you give a fuck that you told them your dad is an alcoholic, that was private information, and not your place to tell." my mom says. "byee asshole" I say very nicely, but I know i'm going to get in huge trouble when I get back home.

"HEYYY CONCON!!" I say so loud the neighbors could probably hear me.. "HEYYY LOOO!" he says letting me inside. "Sooo..what are you doing here?" he asks. "Well. to see my best friend duh." i say dryly. "loren" he says serious. "okay okay... i got into a fight with my mom" i say real quiet. "what the fuck did she do?" he asks. "nothing.. i did it this time. i fucked up, at least that's what my mom says, i told the interviewers that my dad is an alcoholic and she just went all psycho on me." i say. "oh- well do you wanna stay over.. or?" he asks while scratching the back of his neck. "uh yeah sure!" i say back. "okay uh you can have the bed and i'll sleep on the floor." he says. "con we have literally seen each other naked." i say while laughing. "lori we were like 10 and it was a dare." he says while wiggling his eyebrows. "connor you can sleep with me.. just not in that way." and he starts laughing. "alright then, also i'm pretty sure shay and landon are coming over tomorrow." he says. "okayyyyy" i say. "goodnight con." i say, also giving him a kiss on the cheek. "goodnight lo." he says while smiling. "i have to tell you something in the morning as well, i think you'll be happy." i mumbled before drifting off to sleep.
