What had happened here?
She was now walking on what looked like what had once been a cute little alley way. The pathway was made of stone, along with every other pathway she had seen so far. Every once in a while a small piece of burning wood would fall onto the stone ground. A little bird flew right in front of her and landed on a pile of debris and ruble.
" Poor thing." Zara said to the bird.
"Your all alone, just like me." She singed at the realization of just how sureal everything was. Where was she?! She can't remember a time she was so angry, except when some prissy girl tried to convince her best friend Payton she hated her. Payton was the most amazing friend, no way she would ever believe that kind of shit. She wished so much Payton was here, she would know exactly what to do.
If there was ever anything Zara lacked, it was common sense. She was one of the smartest girls in all her classes, but Zara, well she was just her. Common sense is a very useful skill, so conversations really weren't her strong suit. So she was really hoping that there wouldn't be a talk-your-way-out-of-death situation, because that would not end so well...
Then there was a blinding flash on her face. She held her hands in front of her to cover her eyes, only to realize something was reflecting the sun right at her.
Jeez, everything was scaring the hell out if me today. Well I guess that's only fitting because I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT IS HAPPENING.
She stepped closer to the gleaming object. Inside a small stone cave of ruble was something gold. She squinted her eyes to see the tiny object, it was a gold ring. She shrieked in horror and fell backwards as she tried to scramble away. The ring was on a finger.
