A few months later, you and Hamood were happily dating. Everyone knew, some even feeling jealousy towards your new relationship. It didn't bother you though, you were happy with him. You went to a better café often, you and his parents knew the both of you were together (but didn't know you weren't a virgin anymore), and you never went a week without one trip around the park while having a conversation. Everything was perfect, just like how you wanted it to be. However, there was a fork in the road.
A shirtless, glassy-eyed boy would be spotted in the corner of your eye while you and Hamood chatted in the café. At school, you could hear the squeals of every girl at school. "Oh God, he's amazing!" a female voice would say, more of them complimenting this mystery man. You decide to see for yourself. This guy surely isn't what they say he is, right?
You entered the basketball court due to rumors spreading of him joining the basketball team. You notice that he looks so similar to Hamood, he even acts like him. His movements, his height, his face, everything. He had a bit of an accent, letting out a slight grunt every time he shot the ball into a hoop. No, that's not Hamood, don't fall for him. "Hello?" he turns around, spotting you. "Oh, hey! I'm just here...  to practice basketball too." you replied, lying. "Nah, it's alright." he said. His voice was calm and deep, almost as dreamy as his eyes. "You wanna practice together? I could use a partner." he'd offer. You blushed, nodding nervously. You'd almost perfectly throw it through the hoop. "Oh, how rude of me. I'm Haboob." There's something off here. You'd introduce yourself back, not making a big deal out of it. "Shortie." he'd tease. You crossed your arms. "Here," he said before picking you up by your waist and lifting you up. "Put me down!" you'd yell, laughing. He'd chuckle, putting you down. You'd both continue to play until 5pm. "Well, I have to head out. It's getting dark." you'd say. "Meet'cha here tomorrow again?" he offered. "Of course." you happily said.
You realized that you missed your walk with Hamood. You panic, texting him. You apologize frantically, but a feeling inside of you doesn't regret it. He sincerely forgives you. The next day you head back to the basketball court. "Haboob!" you'd yell his name from across the court. "Hey, catch!" he said quickly before throwing the basketball at you. You caught it. "What was that for!?" you asked. "Have a bit of fun!" he'd reply. "Anyways, let's just get started." Another day of an amazing game with him. Of course, you didn't care about the team at all, just him. You worry. 'Am I developing feelings? No-no-no, it's just friendship.' you assure yourself in your head. Soon enough, girls seem to be even more envious of you and your close relationship with the newest hot guy. So, of course, rumors started to spread.
