"aw not fair!!! i want that one!" my sister whined
"ha suck my balls losers, i got the best room" evon calls from up in the attic
"isn't that the attic?" i ask plopping my stuff on the floor in my empty new bedroom
"nah there's a whole ass room up here, there's even a mini walk in bathroom!!" evons voice echoes from above
"what fr?" my sister says still standing at my door
"yeah, i think there's one in every bedroom tho" he said walking back down to our floor
"this house is insane" i say looking over the railing near the stairs
"can i pleaseeee have ur bedroom" my sister begs
"no i called shots first" i say walking back to my bedroom
"not fair! i need it more than you!" she says barging in
"get out" i say
"no this is MY room" she says crossing her arms
"whats all the yelling about?" my mom says walking up the stairs
"MOM ryder took the room i wanted!!" she says whining
"i called dibs first and she wanted it but i got to the room first"
"oh ry, just let courtney have the room" my mom sighs
"why?! that's not even fair!" i say
"watch ur tone!" my mom yells
"c'mon mom surely ryder can have the bedroom, she did see it first" evon says
"do whatever u want im sick of u kids arguing" my mom sighs and walks back downstairs
"just have the other room court" i say
"but the other rooms smaller and your walk in robe is bigger!" she whines
"just go" evon sighs
"UGH FINE" she says picking up her bags and stomping over to her room
i sigh and thank evon. a few hours passed and all my stuff was in my room.
i finished unpacking my boxes and collapsed on my bed. i take my phone out and scroll through tiktok for a but until i hear a faint knock on my door and evons head appeared in the door frame. i look up at him.
"yo the boys wanna go skating because we haven't gone since we left here and i was wondering if u wanted to come, ricos gonna be there" he says smirking. ok lemme just explain this real quick. so basically we used to live here in san francisco until my dad got offered a spot at LA for his job and when we lived here, evon had a friend group and we both practically grew up with them until we moved.
rico and i are the same age and we used to date when we were 11. it wasn't anything serious but we always play flirt with each other and deep down we both know that there's still some connection. anyways i nod.
"yeah sure, i'll be ready in a sec" i say hopping up to get changed. i throw on this outfit quickly:

i brush my hair and put on some hoop earrings. i throw on my converse and smear on some clear lipgloss (keep in mind i already had some light makeup on). i grab my phone and earplugs before grabbing my skateboard and calling out to evon that im ready. we all then hear a car honk out the front of our house and make our way downstairs calling out to mom that we're leaving. once we get outside, we chuck our boards into the trunk and hop into the car. it was our first time seeing them in a couple of months so it was exciting. i squished in next to rico and rico smiled at me. i looked back at him confused.
"what?" i ask giving him a little shove in the arm
"nothing u just look so different-" i cut him off
"is that a bad thing?" i ask
"no no no u look better, better than before tho im not saying u look bad, a-actually u never look bad-" i cut him off again
"shutup ur rambling on again" i said jokingly and he blushed. i couldn't help but feel a little bit of happiness that he was thinking of me that way and i do say myself, he has been looking rather fine lately, massive glow up, very hot glow up tho.
"yeah, tho ricos right u do look very different in a good way" blake says peering up at me in the mirror
"i'd say u had a big glow up" savanh said
"nah she's still the same ugly bitch" ak joked and evon punched him. anyways we got to the park and started filming each other and rico asked me to film him and he kept on falling on this one trick and he was getting annoyed and angry. ngl seeing him angry was kinda a turn on BUT WE DONT TALK ABOUT THAT OK.
anyways rico filmed me and i tried doing the trick rico was trying and landed it first try. rico stared at me blank expression with his mouth wide open.
"not fair" he says giving me my phone back. i smirk and skate off. rico follows behind and we skate over to the others.
"fuck man im starving" ak groans
"yeah same" we all say and laugh
"lets go get some pizza then crash at mine" rico says and we all agree
we all go to the car and drive to get some pizza then go back to ricos. ricos sister was there and his parents were out so we has the house to ourselves which was good. when we got inside jayda, his sister, came up to me to give me a big hug.
"omg ryder!! you look gorgeous girl!!" she says while hugging me tightly. i smile and laugh. "how are you? how's the move been, god we've missed you, especially rico" she says and rico punches her playfully in the arm. i laugh.
"yeah the moves been great, it sucked so much to leave san fran but im just happy we're back ig" i say
"yeah that's good, u had a big glowup girl, ur legit so stunning wtf" she says
"aw omg thank you ur so sweet but ms girl have u seen urself, holy lantaaa 😍😍" i say jokingly and she cracks up
"ur a funny girl" she says wrapping her arm around my shoulder walking over to where the pizza was. we all ate then decided to go watch a movie in ricos movie room. jayda had her bf over so they were cuddling over in the corner of the couch and i was nestled in next rico and when the movie started i rested my head on ricos shoulder. he smiled and wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm. i ended up falling asleep in his arms.
