"We need to call the police." I say quietly. J hears me and I hand him my phone. Nico comes over and sits down next to me and wraps his arms around me as J goes to talk with the cops.

Nico doesn't say anything and neither do I. We just sit there silently until J comes back. I don't hear what he says but I know it is somewhere among the lines the police will be here soon.

My parents my brother they are gone. I have no words to describe how I feel. I'm an orphan. I'm sad scared angry. I didn't save them. I was so close to saving them but I didn't. I failed. It was my job to save them and I didn't. They are dead and it's my fault.

I hear a helicopter up above. Lowering down and people coming down as well. Some walk this way and others go to the bodies.

"What happened?" asked one.

"They got struck by lightning." answered J like it was obvious. I saw that they weren't tied up anymore.

The police asked a few more questions. Nico and J answered them for me. Made up a lie about being on a camping trip. That we went on a late night hike and things went wrong.

"I have a cousin that lives in the city can you drop us off there." I say abruptly. The police man looked surprised that I spoke.

"Yeah just gotta give the pilot the address." he replied. We walked over to the helicopter and I handed the pilot a piece of paper with an address on it. I kept the address handy just in case I needed it now that I'm in New York.

When we arrived it was 11 pm. I got an hour. My cousin Amy was surprised to see me with the cops and two other boys. She let us in. Her husband came into the living room to see the commotion.

The cops explained what had happened and Amy was now in tears. When the cops left it was 11:40. Time running out. I dragged J and Nico away from my crying cousin and her husband, whom I forgot his name.

"We have to get to Olympus. You have the spoils of war?" I ask Nico. He nods.

"How are you planning on leaving?" asked J.

"Leave that to me. Just follow along." I say and walk into the living room.

J POV

I'm worried about Naomi. She just watched her parents die and used a lot of energy to kill that giant. Yet she is walking like everything is fine. But in her eyes I see that something broke.

Should I say something?

"Oh, I am so sorry Naomi." said Amy.

"Sorry? Yeah sorry is all anyone can and will say from now on." replied Naomi.

"Na-" started Amy but Naomi disrupted her.

"I need to go for a walk." before anyone said anything she walked out and slammed the door shut behind her. Her cousin let's out a sob.

"We'll go talk to her." I say. I signal at Nico and we walk towards the door.

"Wait," said her cousin. We turn to face her. "How do you know her?" Nico and I look at each other nervously.

"Camp. We go to the same summer camp." said Nico. I just nod.

"What summer camp." asks her husband.

"We should really get going before we can't find Naomi anymore." I say my voice quivering. They nod and we get out of there fast.

Naomi was waiting for us at the end of the street.

"Finally!" she says. "Did you two stop for dinner?" she continues jokingly. I roll my eyes.

"We don't have time. Let's go." rushed Nico grabbing our hands. He was right. It was 11:55.

~inside the Empire State Building~

"600th floor." said Nico to the desk man. The man sat there lazily and sighed.

"Kids there is no 600th floor." he replied. Naomi slammed her palm on the desk. That got his attention.

"Zeus is expecting us. So let us up before I lose my patients." growled Naomi. He yawned and handed us a card. Nico grabbed it and we headed to the elevator.

~Olympus~

"Woah." said Naomi and I. It was amazing. The buildings the decor everything. Nico just walked ahead and we followed. I looked at everything trying to get this place to sink into my memory. No place will ever top this.

We walked into a building. The gods were arguing. Hades was there too. Someone sitting at the fire. No one but the goddess sitting at the fire noticed us.

Naomi cleared her throat. The gods all looked down at us. The three of us kneeled down.

"Yeah, you three may stand now." said Zeus. We did as we were told and being right next to Naomi I could feel her anger.

"Here," said Naomi as she threw the backpack, full of the spoils of war, to Zeus. He let it fall right in front of him.

"Don't you think you should treat me with a little more respect." he said angrily.

"Respect? You killed my parents and you want me to treat you with respect? That's a laugh." replied Naomi. She spoke casually but with a hint of anger and sadness in her voice.

I looked over at Zeus, his jaw was clenched. "I am a god and you will treat me with respect." commanded Zeus.

"Yeah okay... Sir." answered Naomi. I felt a little nervous standing there at the moment but I didn't move.

"Leave my girl alone. She just watched her family die right in front of her eyes because of you." said Hades. Zeus huffed and sat down in his thrown.

"For doing this quest I will let you live. But don't think I won't be keeping an eye on you." said Zeus.

"Yeah an eye on me whatever. Can we leave?"

"Do not go against the gods."

"Not worth my efforts." she said under her breath. I smirk. Zeus looks at me.

"Something funny?" he demands.

"No, sir, nothing." I say

"Who is your godly parent?"

"Hermes." I say and quickly glance at my father. He smiles at me before I look back at Zeus.

"You three may leave. Meeting adjourned." he dramatically walked out of the building.

"Wow all he needed left was a cloud of smoke and lightning to make his exit even more dramatic." says Naomi, suppressing a laugh.

"Don't give him any ideas," said Hera. "I apologize for what my husband did to your family."

"Don't be. I no longer have to worry about them being held hostage. We should go." she walked out and Nico and I stayed.

"You aren't going to run after her?" asked Aphrodite. "You two are interesting you know." my stomach twisted up. She has taken interest in Naomi and I. This isn't good.

"Sorry for her comments and disrespectfulness, she's still mourning." said Nico.
