“Naege meoleojiji ma baby stay by my side naege ddeleojiji ma baby stay by my sidedon’t go away eonjengan naege doraol ttae nega pyeonhal su itge.”

“It’s 6:30 already?” I said then I turned off my alarm. I got up feeling happy since I had a good dream last night. I liked having dreams and I also hate them. I like having dreams because if I dreamt of something I liked, it would feel real. I hated them because itwasn’t realand I would just wake up and end it on the good part. Anyways, as always my dream was about me meeting my one true love, Yoseob, who in fact is the main vocal of my favorite group. I quickly stretched and walked over to the bathroom where I always did my morning routine. I still couldn’t pick out an outfit for next week’s concert, and I still can’t believe how close it is! I kinda forced my mom to buy the front row seating ticket and backstage pass. But I convinced her with love and kindness. I had a perfect record of 4.0 grade point average and I asked her kindly if she would allow it for just this once, since my all-time favorite band will be attending. The other group that will be in attendance is Got7, which is my second favorite group. I can’t keep in my feelings so I quickly pull out my phone and I start texting my best friend. It looks like we had a psychic moment because when I looked at my phone, I had already received a message. Multiple messages.

As I was eating breakfast, I read the messages. I didn’t reply too much because if I did I would be late again, and I wanted to be early today. I drive to school and plan to meet my best friends at our usual hangout spot. It is by our favorite teacher’s classroom. I knew that they would be just as excited as I am and I was ready to be bombarded with screaming and a bunch of fangirls. I approached the group and said my hi’s and we exchanged hand waves.

“Oh my gosh, guys, I just love Kyuhyun’s smile. By the way did you see his new album, he even won first place in Inkigayo!” One of my friends shouted.

“I love it even more, I already bought his album.” One of my best friends, Naomi replied.

“What about that new Exo music video?” I said with excitement.

“Exo is bomb as always, they always come back with a hotter look.” Min, another one of my best friends said.

“But not as hot as Got7, they just came back recently too. They always come back much more charismatic than the last comeback. Personally I think that is their best music video, it’s just too many feels for me to handle.” I said, like I was some sort of a critic.

“Your right, Got7 is having a great year. They just debuted January of this year and their already so popular.” Min nodded.

“Oh guys, remember the concert next week, what am I going to wear? I need to shop. ASAP.” Naomi said with desperation.

“I know how you feel, I need something to wear too!” I said with relief that I wasn’t alone.

“Why don’t we all go shopping this weekend? I heard there would be a big sale at Forever 21.” Min suggested.

“Yes! We totally need a girl’s day!” I added.

My friends and I have made this conversation last until the bell rang. We organized a girl’s day on upcoming Saturday. It was nice to spend an all girl’s day, indulging on frozen yogurt and shopping for things we don’t need but want.

We would always talk about K-Pop and it just became a part of who we are as best friends. It is our life forever and always. We can have this mini discussion of anything such as, which K-Pop idol can play the violin or the piano better or we can also argue about which K-Pop boy idol has the best dimples. Nevertheless, we always have something to talk about.

Having nice conversations with my girl friends would always put me in a good mood. It’s just really convenient to openly vent to the people who understands you the most. The first period of the day was okay, and second period was better. But I really liked third period. Did I forget to mention that literally all of my best friends were there? I was fortunate enough to get the Korean language as my elective and all of us K-Poppers were there. It was like a mini reunion every time. It was my favorite period because it helped me understand a bit of Korean everyday. When some people take Korean, they want to go there to travel and eat delicious food but when I think of it, it’s one more step to being close with my oppas. Oppa is another Korean word used by females to call older males (biological or not) such as brothers and older male friends that they are close to. It could also be used for females referring to their boyfriend who is older or same age as her. You could have also used it just like how I did, referring to the male K-Pop idols. I have been taking Korean as my elective ever since freshman year, just like all my friends have.
