Snow Globe
It was late evening all over the world, and the glittering rays of the white star bathed the land. Gray crystals of snow gently piled upon the recently disturbed city. The scenery depicted an unreal object, beautiful yet struggling under the weight of an unknown force. The inhabitants were strewn across the streets of the city, chatting away in a constant susurration. The figures were placed in a pattern of organized chaos, where one heard one voice over another-
"How was your day?"
"The usual, up at 6:00, put on my slippers 15 seconds later, the community breakfast at 7:00, and off to work at 8:00. And yours'?"
"The usual, up at 6:00, put on my slippers 15 seconds later, the community breakfast at 7:00, and off to work at 8:00."
And all the conversations, a second off, were the same. But from the left corner of the city's main square came an altercation, which was ignored by the other conversationalists. Moses Nukorich had been stung by the mysterious peach force that came from the sky and proceeded to arrange the inhabitants in a way inscrutable to the victim. It was this finger that was the saboteur, creating sordid in its chosen victims, but took no responsibility. The unlucky fellow was pinched on the sides, rose up and up, disappearing from the city, seeing sites that no one else would see, to be gently returned. Moses Nukorich had been this unlucky fellow, and when he returned came back with a new mind, disturbing the status quo. He began to shout- to incriminate Ms. Annabelle Berd of carrying out with her daily duties, and then began to denounce the synchronization of the city. He repudiated anyone who were with the city, made of the city. From far away the sound of a trumpet reverberated, and slowly a line of toy soldiers appeared, dressed to be sold. Leading them was the elephant, which was mutated to be aquiline, striking a chord of obedience for the onlookers. The soldiers dragged a cumbersome machine behind them, and a chimpanzee dressed in a fine military uniform brought up the rear. The mutant elephant lead the procession in no particular path but to the altercation, going wherever it pleased. The number of followers, those wanting some form of entertainment, proliferated to an innumerable horde. Finally arriving at the site of conflict, the elephant observed Mr. Nukorich, still attempting to refute the status quo for deaf ears, with reproach.
"For the posterity of our stratum society of the worker's class so that it may be interminable," boomed the Elephant, and with that the soldiers in an irrepressible mass swarmed poor Mr. Nukorich, stuffing him into the silver glistening machine. Suddenly the building excitement broke the dam and was flooding, drowning the audience. No longer did they stare meditatively stared as conditioned, but instead some of them grabbed others trying to commit debauchery, long awaited as promiscuity was outlawed in the city. The silent screams were not heard, and the machine began to produce broken bits of plastic, and Mr. Moses Nukorich was no one anymore. The predicament had been dealt with, and the source of the problem had been implicated to the victim, who had no control over the course of time.
Outside the city, the eye blinked after a long period of watching. Whether it venerated or felt disdain of the multifarious and unorthodox events of the city it did not know, but had decided it was enough. The fingers closed around the city, grabbing all the figures with an invisible string, and shook the structure, and the snow fell off the building again. In the city, the white star had disappeared, night had come for just a second, and the colorless star reappeared. The snow fell in piles on the streets. Next to the eye outside the city appeared another set of smaller ones, and then the sound of giggles tore up the silence.
