We ran through the plan several times, questioning different scenarios and how we'd manage. Ethan had three different routes planned out, but no one could agree on one.
"What if someone catches us?" I asked. "Wouldn't this route be the easiest?"
"This is where we escaped," Evelien pointed to rooms 315 and 295. "But Sykkuno was caught before making it out through here."
"I don't think he planned on making it out..." I said. "When he told us what was going on, he never said he'd make it out.. At least not with us..."
"Then... could it be possible he's coming?" Christine asked, but I shook my head no. "Why not?"
"He told us.... He would pose as a distraction.."

As soon as the sirens went off, all of the rooms were locked, and no one was allowed to move. I could hear voices from down the hall, but I couldn't see who it was... but as soon as there was a loud bang, I hid underneath my hospital bed in panic.
~
There was a loud bang that shook the entire foundation of the hospital as soon as I was about to be dismissed for the day. The jig was up.. I was sure of it. Sykkuno had told me he heard nurses talking about me, and how they referred to me as "a fraud." As true as it was, I knew if they would find me to be a fake, I would have to get out before they could get me. The loud bang told me I was too late.
~
As we approached the hospital, we could hear a lot of commotion coming from inside the building. Loud sirens... a sound that resembled an explosion of some sort.... or gunfire. We knew we had to go fast. Seán ran towards the hospital as soon as the sirens went off, Christine and myself following behind. I had never seen Seán in such panic, yet still brave enough to barrel his way in to save his friends. Another loud bang... and he stopped in his tracks.
"Seán! No!" I screamed, falling to my knees as I watched him fall, entirely in the dark on whether or not he was hurt. "Seán!" Christine ran to him with me as soon as we saw a sign of life.
"I saw -" he coughed. "I saw him!" We pulled Seán far enough from the building for us to be safe.
"Who?" I asked. "Sykkuno?"
"No," he panted. "The... the guy I..." Seán coughed again. "The guy I killed." Christine and I exchanged a look. "Babe.. do you remember..?" I nodded. "I... I threw a... a Molotov.."
"I thought.." Christine said. "I thought you said.... that person lived.."
"I thought you had died there.. by my hand," I responded. "Babe, are you sure it was him?" Seán nodded.
"Burns... all up the side of his face.... most of his body...." He continued to describe the man in full detail, and it all came back to me. I was getting back from Hunter's Dream just in time to see Seán fall back, panicking that he had killed a human.
~
"Seán?" I ran towards him. "What happened?" I wrapped my arms around him. "I heard a bell. What happened? Are you hurt?" I was worried.
"I.. I just.." He tried to wrap his head around what had just happened. When I looked down, I saw blood on his arms. "Oh my god.."
"Your first hunter kill..." I said. "I'm sorry... I know it's hard.. It's the worst part of this place.." I wiped the blood from his arms. "It's.. it's a lot to try to handle."
"I... He lunged at me... I couldn't.." Seán panted. "I couldn't spare him... He wasn't like you.." I hugged him again, but this time, it lingered.
~
The commotion slowed slightly after the fifth explosive noise. Not a single person was nearby when I finally stood up to see what the hell had happened. Amongst all of the flying ash, I saw something moving. I covered my mouth as I started to choke on the toxic air.
"Rae?" I managed to speak. "Rae!" She reached up and pulled me to the floor.
"Stay down," she coughed. "We're getting out of here."
"I thought you said it wasn't safe.."
"It wasn't..." She smirked. "But now it is."
"Did... did you do this?" I was shocked as she nodded.
"You'd be surprised on how easy you can make a homemade explosive device," she said. "The others are gonna end up coming back for you. I had to get you out.." We started crawling along the floor.
"I'm not leaving without you." I said, and she glared at me. "Dammit Rae, I'm not leaving without you!"
"You don't get it..." She said, sighing in frustration. Something was bothering her, but for whatever reason, she felt she couldn't tell me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, but she was silent. "What do you mean, Rae? Rae?" She continued to refuse communicating.
~
Sykkuno wouldn't stop begging me to leave the hospital with him, but he didn't understand why I clearly couldn't. First of all, the police would surely be on their way for me, but also, I stayed in scrubs in order to watch over the patients with whom I shared experiences of Yharnam. There were about half a dozen patients that were there as well, not including the group that escaped. I couldn't tell him. If he knew, I knew he would refuse to leave.... but regardless of knowing, his mind of set on getting out of here with someone, other than himself.
"Rae, seriously..." He said, crawling alongside me. "Tell me.."
"I have work to do," I had enough of his constant pressuring, so I kept my statement vague. "I'm not done here."
