Anna

I ran so fast into the woods. My lungs felt like they were burning inside my chest, screaming at me to slow down, but I couldn't. I just kept running, not looking back once.

My eyes shot open wider when I heard a blood curdling howl in the distance. I gritted my teeth fighting past the pain in my legs and chest as I ran deeper into the forest.

I can't get caught. I can't go back. I'll die if they catch me. In my frantic state of mind I didn't see the dip in the ground ahead of me making my body fly forward. I scream in pain as rocks dig into my skin.

"Damnit!" I heard the heavy footfalls of some very large animals. I got up as quickly as I could, running further into the forest. I grit my teeth feeling them coming up to my rear. I didn't look back. I just kept running.

I ducked under a tree branch hoping it would slow the wolf down, but he just barreled right through it, snapping it in half. I fell again, but this time the chain on my ankle got caught on a root. I tried to break free, but couldn't.

I look up just in time to see massive jaws stretch wide open to eat me whole. I close my eyes, raising my arms up in self defense screaming. This is it...my end. At least I will be free from the pain.

Seconds pass. I braced for the impact, but the final blow never came. Instead I can hear a loud Yelp from the wolf who was about to kill me. I heard a struggle, branches breaking, whimpers as bones break. I lay low slowly, opening my eyes. They shoot open wide at what I see.

A very large wolf with red and white fur looms over the wolves who were chasing me. In a low, deep growl he says. "Leave now or die." The wolves quickly scurry to their feet running back to their territory. I look up at the large wolf with wide eyes. Why did he save me?

He lowers his snout down to me sniffing me a few times. His eyes pear into mine. eyes as he reads me. A tingling feeling shoots through my body as the adrenaline pumping into my veins finally subsided making me pass out. I guess this is the end for me. I thought as sleep took me.
