Trouble

Chapter 11

"We are so happy to hear you are having so much fun and making friends on earth. Oh how I wished to have watched you perform!" Blue muses as she cups clasp her large blue hands together.
"Yes, yes we are very happy Spinel, but please reframing from calling us only once a month. We were concerned about your well-being even the entire time. We recognize you need your own space, but a simple message would had sufficed." Yellow points out making Spinel feel slightly guilty for not calling. If she was being honest she forgot about updating the Diamonds completely. She's been spending most of her days with F/N and the lovely gem is a wonderful distraction from her family on Homeworld.
"I'm sorry my Diamonds! I will call you guys every week to make up for it!" Spinel promises. Yellow hums in approval easily forgiving the Spinel. Before Yellow could speak again White pushes her aside.
"I miss my Starlight sooooo much, its been boring since you left. When do you plan on returning home?" White questions as she stares at Spinel from the screen. The look on her face made Spinel grin, it touched her gem when they showed how much they cared about her. It was something she appreciated. Spinel looks over at Steven who was sitting by his flowers, he was keeping her company while she chatted with the Diamonds. But she knew he was also here to be nosy. She didn't mind it though, if someone had to witness her interaction with the Diamonds she preferred it be him. At least he understands how the Diamonds are.

The pink gem sighs as she rubs that back of her neck, she hasn't thought about home in a while. Sure she misses the Diamonds but being here on Earth felt like home to her. She felt like she had a purpose again.

The pink gem was a teacher, guiding young minds in the brilliant arts of swing. She was hanging out with friends everyday and they actually enjoy her company.  And F/N, good golly F/N. The thought of her made her giddy. Spinel smiles ear to ear as she cups her cheeks with her hands feeling the warmth grow. Geez, the little minx has her wrap around her perfect little finger doesn't she?

"Spinel?....Spinel?" White calls out, said gem snaps back to reality. Her pink eyes glancing back to the large Diamonds on the screen. She dropped her hands quickly to her side as she stood up straight. She couldn't believe she wonder off with them staring at her. Jeez how embarrassing.
"Uhh when I'm coming home? I-I don't know really...I'm just having a real good time down here." Spinel answers honestly. White sighs as her frown deepens. For such a graceful being, she can be very childish.
"Very well, but when you do return you are to stay by my side until I am satisfied." White quips back like the spoiled brat that she is.
"I agree with White, you shouldn't be far from home for too long time. And upon your return it may be a while until you see or visit your friends again." Yellow adds.
'A while until she sees her friends again?' How long is a while?
"And why wouldn't I be?" Spinel asks nervously. The slender gem held her arm against her side to bring herself comfort. Blue noticed her body language, recognizing its meaning. Blue eyes soften as she offers a kind smile to the Spinel speaking ever so gently.
"Visitations will be on hold until majority of HomeWorld is rebuilt. There is still a long way to go to undo the damage that we have done and we want you with us for the whole thing. You are helping us repair our empire meaning that will leave little time to play with your friends." Blue's answers.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuuuucccck.

Help repair the empire! That will take forever! No, no, no, nooooo! She didn't want to leave! She wants to stay on earth! But she knows she couldn't tell them that, it would crush them. And she couldn't do that to them, especially after all the things they done for her. Ughhhhh. Guess she gonna have to suck it up....for now.

Inhaling deeply from her nose Spinel nods as she forces a smile on her face.
"Ok that sounds great! I gotta go, it was great talking to you guys! Call you back next week!" And with that Spinel quickly ended the call. Spinel knew hanging up on them was abrupt but she really needs a minute to breathe. The pink gem groans tiredly as she fell back on the hard wood floor. She didn't want to leave, at least not yet or anytime soon! She was finally getting her footing and confidence here and now it will be all for nothing when she has to return back to HomeWorld. Spinel ran her hands over face as she tugs down her cheeks stretching the skin down. This sucks.
