Ash x eiji one shots! (No smut, but will have the subject of rape)

How Eiji deals with Ash's nightmares :)

Ash woke up crying and drenched in sweat. His nightmares started up again every few months, and that had been the worst month yet for them. October was always hard for Ash because the memory of his brother and the constant reminders of pumpkins.

 "Ash? Are you okay?" Eiji asked with concern in his voice as he sat up in bed. Ash was choking on his words because of the tears. Eiji shuffled closer to him and  reached out to touch Ash, but slow enough that he could pull away if he wanted.

 He pulled Ash's head into his chest and played with his hair until he calmed down. 

"Do you wanna tell me about it? You don't have to, but it might help." Eiji asked, braiding a small piece of hair that dangled in front of Ash's eyes. Ash shook his head, not wanting to explain. All his energy was drained from crying.

Eiji continued to play with his hair until Ash fell asleep. Eiji wasnt able to sleep until he knew ash felt safe enough to sleep.

Eiji laid in the same position all night, not letting himself move so that ash can sleep. He never got back to sleep. When it hit 5:30 am he slowly pushed Ash's head off of his chest and rolled out of bed.

 He walked over to the dresser and grabbed a pair of overalls, a knitted sweater full of rainbow, black and white stripes and a belt. He got dressed and went to the kitchen to cook for the gang. Even if they didn't fight golzine anymore they still had their own beds in the house. 

He looked in the fridge for eggs, bacon, milk and butter. Every time Ash had a nightmare Eiji made a big breakfast so he would be distracted from the last night. 

He mixed up pancake batter in a bowl with a egg, a small unmeasured amount of milk, and a few drops of food coloring. He was mixing the ingredients, when he heard walking through the hall. When he turned around he saw Ash's pale tired face in the doorway.

"You're up early." Eiji says with a small chuckle. "Did you sleep well?" He asked with a smile. Ash grunted and nodded, still half asleep. "Why are you up so early?"

"I wanted to know where you went."

Ash and Eiji finished making breakfast for everyone together, which everyone seemed to enjoy.

"Did you get back to sleep last night? You look awful." Ash asked, slightly concerned. He set the news paper down on the table.

"Jee, thanks." Eiji said sarcastically.

"Well did you?" He asked again

"No, but I'm not very tired so its fine." Eiji stated. Ash looked at him with determination in his eyes. He walked over, picked Eiji up like a bride and carried him to their room and dropped him onto the bed.
