3: Friends & A Close Call

Tendou laughed and leaned on his hand, "what do you mean need help? It's a book?" Ushijima placed a hand on his shoulder.

Tendou looked over as he nodded over to my direction, "think harder tendou, I know you can. She's panicking, pulled us out of class, well, you technically, and is pleading for help. Didn't you say her mom never let's her do anything, she cant even use the internet? That book sounds like her mom, dont you think?" Tendou sat for a moment.

He stared off into space, going through every moment he's had with you, every conversation, argument, and strange behavior, "woah buddy you're right, you think you're mom, has what that lady has? is that whhy you need help?" I smilled and nodded.

I pulled out my phone, "Every night, she takes my phone, I just gained her trust to have my door closed at all, I have the same bland foods all the time because she claims im allergic to spices. I cant be late to dinner or she pulls my hair and scolds me, if i mess up im locked in the basement or lose a privlige. She gives me medications that make me feel sick and passout-" Ushijima raised his hand slightly to stop you.

He seemed slightly angry from his stoic face, "she gives you medications that hurt you?" I nodded, "What are they for?" I thought for a moment.

"I think ones for arthoritis, ones a blood pressure pill, sleep balancer, ones for alzhimers, the others are liquids and I dont know what they do, i think they are just regular cough syrups" Tendou and ushijima alike looked disturbed.

Tendou was the first to speak up, "if you didn't take those pills, hid them under your tongue, does she check?" I shook my head.

"No, she trusts me now, but the liquids I have to take infront of her" He frowned aand nodded.

"If you stop taking the pills secretly and feel normal, keep doing that, You obviously dont have those problems, thats why they are making you sick." Ushijima finished as i looked down and nodded.

The table fell quiet again, "(y/n) are you safe at home aside from that?" Ushijima asked to which tendou nodded vigorously.

I shrunk back slightly, "Tell us (y/n) whatever your mom told you about others is not only true, we need to know more so we can go to adults later on once we figure out enough stuff" Tendou explained as I nodded and sighed.

Then I had an Idea, "With these experiments can one of you write down everything, I cant because my momma will see. If she sees that I'll be thrown in the basement... or worse.." They both eyed me as i laughed nervously, "She may or may not threaten to kill me from time to time if i dont listen, but its not a big deal i dont think she would do that... kinda?" I was unsure myself.

The two vollyball players were thinking long and hard, "where's your dad?"

"don't have one, never knew one. Just been me and momma" Ushijima stared at me.

I shifted in my spot as I looked away, "something wrong bro?" Ushijima shook his head.

"no, i was just thinking, but it doesnt matter. (y/n), you'll be okay we promise. Tendou and I are your friends now-" Tendou interupted him with a smile.

"yea! I will protect you forever your one of my best friends, plus your in like a life or death situation" he mumbled, as I got that fast distraut feeling again, the bell rang.

We got up and agreed to meet after school before our sports. I walked off only to have another boring normal day. Being bullied by Koko and her friend. Her friend just usually sat back and laughed, I never cared to remember her. School was over and we rushed to the library again. Girls stopped and said hi to the boys and sscoffed at me. I didnt care, my face was cemented with determination.

Once there we went into certain things of detail, like what to do and not do while my momma was around. They also explained to me more about how my momma's behavior was dangerous and told me normal behavior and things that I have never even known about.

"(y/n) you don't know any of this stuff?" Tendou whispered in amazment.

I shook my head with a frown, "No im only allowed at school, the doctors and home. i'm not allowed to go outside, i cant have pets because im allergic, and my momma always say's that bruises are the marks of a mother's love" That last part made ushijima's face red with a scowl. he turned away and put his face in his hands. Tendou just covered his face with his hands and leaned back and let out a exhausted groan.

They calmed down and tendou looked at me, "Are you serious right now (y/n)? You aren't joking about that? please be joking, but dont be because that is way too dangerous to joke about".

I rubbed my hands on my arms, "i'm not joking, she makes me repeat it every morning! I'm not allowed to cry because it makes momma's face age with anger. She says she wants to look as young as possible so she can be with me forever" They just gave up at this point to react because its just gonna get worse.

"has your mother ever mentioned of their being a time where you move out?" Ushijima was staring at the table in deep thought.

"Moving out? why would I do that?" Tendou almost slamed his hands on the table.

He calmed down and spoke softly, "because everyone needs to leave their parents at some point like for college or just to get out of a bad house like you should?" I stared at him blankly as he slamed his head on the table and groaned.

I was becaoming very scared to go home, "No, momma say's I cant leave her because i'm not ready yet, she says i'll need her because of all my health problems, she needs to take care of me because i wont understand how to take care of myslef" The boys looked at eachother as ushijima asked me something I never even thought of.

"(y/n) Whhy do you call her 'mommy' do you not know anything else?" I sat and thought.

I was thinking for a few minutes when I was snapped out of it by the two males. "N-no, she's never told me any other name but mommy, that's all I know her by.." before we knew it we missed practice talking, and I was going to be late getting home if I didnt leave now. "i need to leave now i can't be late, by guy's ill see you tomorrow! Thanks for helping me so far!" I waved and ran off.

I was down the street from my house and i had 6 minutes left to be in. I charged full speed to the door and pummeled through it. Shutting and locking it behined me not even 20 seconds till. "What an interesting day, I made friends & a close call today. Exciting!" I hummed to myself as I went on with my night and droped my phone in the box. Planing to do what Ushijima and tendou told me too tonight.
