Izuku Midoriya POV:

My head felt numb and my arms ached slightly but apart from that, I would say I'd made a pretty swift recovery. I had Kacchan to thank for that, his amazing skills had helped a lot, It wasn't surprising though as Kacchan was perfect at almost everything.

Key word: Almost.

Speaking of Kacchan, was he still asleep? I blinked slightly, letting the small amount of light that could fit through the gaps in the tent to shine onto my face. There was a strong smell of caramel coming from somewhere near me which was surprisingly pleasant. I adjusted to my surroundings, even more surprised by the addition of a warm blanket wrapped around me. Slowly yawning, I went to stretch my arms but paused when I felt a strange object that seemed to be moving.

I peeked at where my hand landed in confusion to find a very angry Kacchan who now had my hand on his face, poking him in the eye.

'Oh crap!'

I quickly retracted my hand but the damage had already been done and in that moment I could've sworn there was actual smoke coming out his ears.

I went to sit up, attempting to make an escape, but failed miserably as I fell back down even faster.

"UHHhhhhhh"

Kacchan looked at me with a fierce glare but could only keep the act up for a few seconds before turning to a look of amusement.

"You should've seen the look on your face dumbass, that was payback for that shit you pulled last night," Kacchan growled the last part, turning a light shade of pink.

With that statement, he left the tent. Giving me time to comprehend what he was talking about.

What did he mean by that sh*t last night?

I tried to think back, there didn't seem to be anything too strang-

Oh.

OH.

I KISSED HIM ON THE CHEEK!?

I curled up in a ball of embarrassment, burying my head between my knees whilst I tried to retrace my thought process. I obviously wasn't thinking straight because of the fever, that's the only logical explanation I had for my actions. My memories felt as if they had turned to mush and the only thing that stayed stagnant was the idea that I had managed to kiss Kacchans cheek and come out alive.

Of course when we were kids that would've been normal, in fact it had happened multiple times when I was younger. I used to cry a lot as a 4 year old and a kiss on the cheek was a strangely pleasant form of comfort that became a sort of second nature between us. I missed the days when we could hang out together so freely.

A barely noticable smile made its way onto my face as I heaved myself out of bed and crept over to the exit where I could hear a faint humming of a song that sounded familiar like I had heard it recently (Which was likely).

I cautiously peeked though the door of the tent to see Kacchan angrily mumbling something along the lines of, "Stupid fucking cheesy ass song with its stupid rhythm and crappy lyrics," whilst preparing a fish. He continued to hum without realising the pair of eyes glued on him.

I listened to the lyrics and after a few seconds I reached the shocking realisation he was humming the exact tune to Bubblegum bitch by Marina and the Diamonds, I didn't realise that he listened to good music. It sounded different in his voice though, not in a bad way! But it was more hoarse and angry. The songs context seemed to change with the way Kacchan hummed certain parts of it louder then others, or when his voice would jump down an octave.
