"What?" He laughed.

"I'm serious"

He gave a sarcastic chuckle.

"Please." There was fear in her voice now.

"Yeah, fine," he said, as he felt around for her hand.

She found his hand, and grasped it tight.

They didn't move or say anything for the next 10 minutes. Nothing much happened in that time, except Leah having an urge to confess her crush to him.

Right when the awkwardness was wearing off, the lift creaked, and forgetting everything, Oliver and Leah jumped into each other's arms. They were equally surprised to see their action reciprocated, but they kept quiet. They held on for some time, their hug getting tighter every minute.

Finally, Oliver broke the silence. "Leah?"

"Yeah?"

"This is awkward."

"I know."

"But I don't want to let go."

"Me neither."

"So what do we do?"

"Let's lighten the mood."

"Alright, how?"

"On three, let's reveal a secret."

By this time, both of them had forgotten that they hated each other.

"One"

"Two"

"Three"

"I love you," they both said at the same time. Right then, the lights came back on and Leah saw Oliver squint. She saw her chance and kissed him. They shared a very shy kiss and broke apart only when they felt the lift move.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Oliver asked her. "Because I thought you hated me." Leah told him.
