Sidney was up to bat first. She slammed the ball and all of the boys were shocked. So shocked in fact that they didn't even move until the ball hit the ground and Sidney was already halfway to second. They scrambled to get the ball back infield.

Sidney was stuck on 3rd after her hit. Up next was Barbra, she was pretty good too but the innocent face kid they call Smalls caught it and she was out. While the boys were focused on Barb though Sidney ran home and scored us a point.

"That's alright Barb!" I yelled as she came jogging back into our dugout

"Thanks Taylor." She said as she passed me

"Okay Niki your up!" The girls started to sing a chant

"See that girl at the plate? she's the best one in the state!"

"She's got spirit she's got pride! Watch out boys she'll beat your hides!"

(The actual lyrics are 'see that girl at the plate, she's the best one in the state, she's got spirit she's got pride, ha ha ha she's on our side!)

"Sing all you want GIRLS! You'll never beat us!" Ham said

Niki walked up to the plate and got in her batting stance.

"Give em the Niki Special!" Loran yelled

"Will do!" We could hear Niki yell back

Denunez pitched and at the last second Niki bunted the ball and sprinted to 1st. She made it and it was Lorans turn to bat.

Loran went up to the plate and struck out, Niki scored, and now it was Sabrinas turn.

"Come on Saber 2 outs!" I yelled

She went up to the plate and batted she made it to 2nd base, and finally it was my turn to bat.

I walk up to the plate and the girls chant.

"Hey! Hey! Watch out! It's The Beast! The Beast!" And I smiled at Denunez. His eyes widened at me and he gulped.

He pitched and the ball went straight at my head. I ducked quickly and slowly stood back up. The girls fell silent and the boys gasped and whispered how he never messes up a pitch.

I didn't say anything I just pointed the tip of my bat at him and sliced a finger across my throat. When I glanced at the girls they all looked horrified, they knew what was gonna happen...

Denunez pitched and I swing with everything I had and the ball went right back at him. He hit the dirt faster than anyone I've ever seen and I have to give him credit for that but I saw Benny catch the ball and look up at me with an expression I couldn't quite read.

I knew I won the boys respect then and there and even if we didn't win, which we would definitely win, they wouldn't make fun of me or my girls. I smiled at Benny and yelled out while still looking at him.

"Switch up girls!" And I turned

We switched up and I got my gear on. I could overhear the boys saying that Benny would go first. He walked up towards the plate and I stood up facing him.

"Here's how this is gonna work Benny, she's gonna pitch." I say motioning to Daniela. "I'm gonna catch it, and you're gonna walk back to the dugout. Got it?" I ask with my signature smirk and lightly tapped my glove against his chest. The boys 'ooohhhed' behind him.

To my surprise he didn't back down, instead he said, "That's big talk for such a little girl." He said grabbing my glove pulling me in a little closer and looking down at me with a smirk of his own.

I blushed and stood there while he looked at me. Thankfully Niki yelled, "So are you two gonna stop flirting or what?" And Benny and I turned our heads at her at the same time.

"We aren't flirting! We're fighting!" I say and walk to the plate squatting down quickly.

"Sure." I heard some of the girls and boys say.

Benny walked up to the plate and batted. He was good, like really good which only made him hotter. Oh, I hope he's single...

WAIT WHAT!?! I think to myself, no you just met him you can't already like him!

I was interrupted from my thoughts when I heard the crack of Bertram's bat. Benny was running towards me, coming for home.

Daniela threw me the ball and I caught it. I turned back to Benny, as I prepared for a crash and he knocked me over landing on me.

"Sorry!" He said quickly looking down at me from where he held himself up his hands on either side of my head.

I coughed. "You're out." I said smiling at him. That's when he noticed my hands with the ball still in them was pressed against his stomach.

"Good job." He whispered to me.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and flipped us over my hands still holding the ball to him.

"Thanks." I said standing up off of him and offering my hand to him.

He took it smiling and shaking his head at me. "I'll get you back for that one..." he said quietly and he bumped shoulders with me and walked out to the dugout, grinning like a fox.
