TW: attempted suicide

You woke up the next morning In your flat and you couldn't bare be away from Margaret.

You were dressed and waiting for your taxi so you could go and see her.

The taxi finally arrived.
You finally got to Buckingham palace.

The atmosphere was different,you found Lilly the other girl who also worked for Margaret.
She looked upset.

You said "what's wrong lil?".

She could barely get the words out "I-ummm...I heard princess Margaret tried to do herself in!".

You was confused "do herself in?".

She nodded "she tried to...kill her self!".

Y/n POV:
My heart shattered into a million pieces I had to act like I was fine I had to have an excuse to be alone.
I told Lilly i was going to get changed into my work outfit.

I was finally alone,I broke down I held my mouth and nose and broke down.
It was my fault I shouldn't have left her,I couldn't imagine the world without her.
I can't lose her!

I came out of the room,I dried my eyes and tried to go and see if she was alright.

I snuck over to Margaret's chamber and made my way to her room,there was a little gap in the door I could hardly see but I was determined to see if she was alright.

I saw that the queen was in there with her,I saw her edge closer to the door,so I stepped back and proceeded to walk down the hallway.

The queen opened the door it looked like she had been crying.
She noticed me "ah Y/n,you are exactly what we need,would you fetch us some tea please?".

I bowed my head and tried to not show my face as it was still swollen from the crying.

I returned 10 minutes later with the tea,I opened the door and bowed to Margot and queen Elizabeth.

She could see I was upset,I didn't want to look at her because it would of set me off again.
I excused myself.

In the corner of my eye I saw the queen coming out minutes later she said to me "princess Margaret has requested to see you Y/n!".

I dreaded seeing her in the state I was in.
I walked down the hall and knocked on her door.
She said in a groan almost I'll sounding voice "come in darling!".
She already knew it was me.

As soon as I shut the door I broke down right infront of her,she started to cry at the sight of me crying.

I shouted at her "WHY!?".

She said in her calm I'll sounding voice "why what?".

I was still balling my eyes out "try to...'do yourself in'".

She looked down "Y/n the situation I am in is so hard the only way out was this way!".

I looked at her dead in the eye "WHAT ABOUT ME,WHAT ABOUT DAVID,WHAT ABOUT SARAH?".

She tried to avoid eye contact.

I went over to her and sat on her bed.
She looked at me "I'm sorry my love!".

I put my forehead on hers our noses touching "don't leave me Margot,not now!".

She started to cry "you don't know what you mean to me and I promise I will never leave you or try to leave you again!".

She cupped my cheek with her warm hand I pressed my head against it.
"Margot,I...I love you!".

She smiled through all the pain she was experiencing .
"I love you too Y/n,more than you could ever know!".

She then added "you do need to leave for now because Tony should be back,my sister went to go and call him for what ever bloody reason!".

I kissed her for one last time and left the room,I closed the door and leant my back on it and just floods of tears came out of my eyes,I had to stay strong for Margaret!
